Labradoodle Needs New Home - in Fairfax, VA just posted on Craigslist

Here is the link.  I forwarded info for DRC, and made a few suggestions that I thought would help.  I thought maybe there would be someone here that might be interested.

I just replied to an email that the owner sent to me asking additional questions, which is good, I expect many questions.  I also included several preliminary questions as well.  I realize the owner will be interviewing more then one person, however I would expect them to appreciate questions as well.  Yes, one of the main questions I had was of Cosmos health.  I VERY MUCH appreciate your advice and if this progresses I will include this as well.

Many thanks...Bren

Hi Bren~ If all the stars align and this sweet fur ball becomes a new family member ask also if there is a microchip. You will want to transfer that # and have it register to you before you pick Cosmos up. Karen's tips were right on mark. We just adopted via idog an adult doodle two weeks ago today and these were all concerns we had and did address before we brought him home. Thankfully, to the best of all our records he is in wonderful health and a beautiful addition to our family. I wish the same for you :)

PS: (our oldest is named Bindi.....she is a little spitfire)

Microchip, great question Carole.  I noticed earlier the name Bindi with your the other adorable names.  Your Bindi is the first I have came across since day one when I brought my sweet angel home.

Thanks for your advice!  Bren

Our Bindi is a 12 year old Maltese mix that we rescued via a puppy mill raid when she was just a couple of months old. Our son was only a toddler at the time and loved Steve Irwin from The Crocodile Hunter. Bindi was the name of his favorite crocodile and later his daughter. It's clear the name represents beloved ones for all of us Bren <3

I don't know what happened to my original reply (!), but I'd said that I was so saddened when I just read this discussion topic headline - but then got chills when I read your first response, Bren.  It's amazing how things happen sometimes.  Best wishes to you that this works out well for all involved, and I'll be following along to see how it goes. :)

Spot on advice! I might also add to ask if there is a microchip and have ownership transferred and records reflecting the new address/vet etc prior to leaving the premises with the new dog. Even in the best of circumstances regimes are flight risks.

Oh, my goodness.  I just got chills thinking about the possibility of this working out.  Sometimes the stars all align. Maybe Bindi has something to do with this . . .

You warmed my heart...

Hugs...Bren

Bren, the owner has been in contact with me. He said he sent you a message but hasn't heard back. Just wanted you to know he wants to hear from you

Hi Carole,

I have responded to him.  Thank you very much Carole.  I answered his questions and sent some of my own.  I was away this morning and returned just after noon seeing his email.

Bren

Ditto to what everyone said!

Laurie, I thought the same thing :)  Good advice from Karen.
