Wish I could take him, but unfortunately I can't. I'd like to help, though. I'm part of the Doodle Train and would be happy to help get him to a foster (or forever) home if one can be found. I'm in MA and am willing to drive around 4 hours total if that helps.
Oh, he looks gorgeous. But, we have our hands full in my house! Have you tried the doodle rescue people at IDOG.biz? They can post his picture and description as well as trying to find him a foster/ forever home.
Melissa, How close are you to this shelter? We are trying to figure the Doodle Train, are you close enough to pull him if approved by shelter? lynne_fowler@yahoo.com if you can let me know ASAP so that Jacquie has answers for the shelter in the AM, Thanks!
Minders is right in Stratford...I have an email into them asking for assistance IF we are actually able to pull this dog.....Will find out more in the AM.....
I just got off the phone with OSPCA director Cherise Eltesch who was kind enough to call me back regarding Jake's status....Great news!,.....Cherise told me Jake is in a loving foster home and in absolutely no danger of being euthanized.....OSPCA policy is to adopt locally within the Ontario area but she promised that if for any reason they have trouble adopting Jake (as he is a large black dog) she will contact me IMMEDIATELY and the OSPCA will disregard their policy and work with us to transport Jake to the NY area for adoption......
Thanks for the kudos Adrianne.....By the way, just to update you all, The Roth Family ( Minders) who are DK and DT members and right in Stratford wrote me last night and generously offered to pull Jake and transport him as part of the Doodle Train....So a great big thanks to Minders and everyone who stepped up to the plate!...I'll keep you all posted if I should here from Cherise.......
