Leaving DK...for 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!

I know I should probably be happy that I'm going away on a 2-week New Orleans vacation.....but now I know why I'm not!!! I'M GOING TO MISS MY DOODLE!!!!! I feel like I'm going to miss a life's worth of photos, videos, updates, and hilarious stories (I'm looking at you, Fudge and Vern!).

I'm going to be in serious withdrawal. I've considered clipping a piece of Lola's hair to bring with me....but that would be weird....or would it??? I also don't want to mess with the great coat of hair she's got going on right now.

What's the longest you've ever been away from your doodle?? And besides drinking your sadness away....how did you cope???

Oh Lola looks so beautiful and pitiful thinking of you leaving for two whole weeks! I left for 10 days in May and just looked for any and every dog to pet along the way. sigh.

Oh I know just how you feel.  I left my guys for four days this Summer, and had a great time....but I missed them so much.  If it's any help, I think my boys did just fine without me.  They were happy to see us when we picked them up at "Camp", but they seemed totally okay.

If you're going to New Orleans, you'll eat your way through  missing him.  haha!  sooo much good food!!  I'm jealous.  I'm from New Orleans, but don't live there anymore.  I sure do miss it though and love eating my way through every time I go back.  Just bring him back some beignets and I'm sure he'll forgive you. :-)  She's a cutie pie!

I plan on stuffing my face with beignets!!! I can't wait!!!! And I can't wait for all the fresh seafood...YUM!!!

I think the days before you leave are sometimes the hardest....you're thinking about leaving and how much you'll miss her.   Once you arrive at your destination it's easier.    New Orleans sounds FUN......Have a wonderful time!   Lola will be fine and your reunion will be great.

this is so true. I'm always dreading going away...but once I'm there, I figure there's nothing I can do so I might as well enjoy myself :)

I am leaving in less than two weeks for Naples, FL for a WHOLE week and I am usually so excited for this annual trip with the girls, but now that I have Bruin....I don't even wanna go!!!!  He will be home with DH so I know HE will be fine, I, however will not be.  I, too, plan on drinking my sadness away.  Thank goodness DH & I have iphones...we can FACE TALK (heehee - DH is gonna love it when I ask him to let me talk to Bruin!!!)

It'll be my sister and/or parents taking care of her (my sister's moving in to our house for a week of it), and they're all just as obsessed with Lola as we are, so I know she'll be well taken care of!

I went on a "Colors of Fall" cruise last fall for 10 days and thought I was going to die being away from Knox!  I "hunted" for doodles at each port -- my parents thought I was CRAZY!  I came home with pictures of doodles from Bar Harbor, Halifax and Quebec City!  

 

I know you have mentioned it before, but Lola and Knox look SO much alike!  It's really uncanny!

It really is uncanny. I wonder if they're twins separated at birth??? :) I hope I find some doodles in New Orleans....speaking of which....any DK-ers here from around the french quarter??? I promise to give your doodle lots of hugs and kisses!

Doris - We were in Bar Harbor around that time and had several women come up to us who'd left their doodles at home....I wonder if one of them was you!!! LOL!
