Hi all, Has anyone had the problem or heard of a doodle with a leg that has a popping or clicking sound?  Baxter has a popping sound coming from one of his front legs that started this morning.  He is 1 year old now.  He has had extensive x-ray due to a limp on his right front leg Initially thought to be pano.  A comparison of his 6 month x-rays to current x-rays have ruled this out, everything looks normal.  It is a possibility that there could be ligament damage.  He will now be going to an ortho vet in the next week.  The popping sound started this morning.  It does not appear to bother him as he still runs and jumps as usual.  Just curious if anyone has info for me until he gets to the ortho vet.  Thanks for any information.

I definitely think that the ortho vet is your best option. Cruciate ligament issues can cause a popping sound.

Picco had a rear popping/clicking sound with no visible ailment to go with it or we would have done xrays etc. It lasted from about 6/7 mos old till maybe 14/15 mos old. The vet felt around and manipulated him (and of course couldn't recreate the sound) but everything felt okay. We figured it was typical growing sounds.

I hope the best for you & Baxter!

I remember when Gavin was younger he used to make some creaking and cracking noises when he rose and stretched.  It just gradually decreased and went away.  We chalked it up to growing as everything was normal upon examination.  Hope it is nothing serious in your case as well.

My thanks to each of you for your comments.  I'm sure we all share the same attachment to our doodles, they are our children and anything that is right is a concern.  Hopefully I will have an answer when we have our ortho appointment.  Enjoy your holidays.
