Few people are aware of this, but there is a facility next to Santa's workshop, a sort of building annex, dedicated to receiving and fulfilling the wishes of pets. Surprised? You may be startled to know that Santa has been delivering goodies to pets long before the advent of doggie daycares, spas and the plethora of toys that line pet store shelves. The annex is quite large to accommodate the millions of wish lists sent to the North Pole each year by pets.
Dogs and cats may not be able to manipulate a pen, but they know how to get their wishes across – as any pet owner can appreciate! Of course, the foremost wish of dogs and cats is the gift of a good home and a loving family.

I thought it might be fun to read some letters from our Doodle Kisses Doodles. If your furbaby could write, what do you think he/she would ask from SantaPaws? Here’s some nice one’s to get your creative juices flowing. Happy Holidays to one and all.

I've Been a Good Girl...Mostly

Dear Santa:

I've been a very good girl this year... well mostly a good girl. I would like a new bed for Christmas. (I really didn't mean to tear up the last one... I just wanted to see what was inside). And I would like a new squeeky toy, and a new tug-o-war rope. I think Pup buried the one you brought last year. Oh, and some of my favorite dog biscuits! Mom only lets me have those tiny ones, but I want the BIG ones!

And Santa, I have just one more request... as you're flying thru the heavens, would you keep an eye out for my little sister, Twirler? Mom says she went to heaven a couple of months ago. I keep looking for her, and calling her, but she never answers, and I miss her terribly. Please tell her I love her, and I'm keeping her favorite squeeky Snowman for her. Maybe you could give her another Snowman to play with until I can take this one to her??

Thank you Santa!

OXOXOXOXOX

I am very lucky.

So, Santa my wish is that every dog that finds a new home at Christmas is treated just as special as I am. They should be loved and cared for just like one of the family. I know it is a big responsibility to take care of us, and we are really thankful for everything. Santa, I wish people really take the time and realize it is a big decision when they bring a pet into their home. It is very sad when spring comes around and we are not the little rolly polly balls of fur anymore and sometimes children and adults start to loose interest and patience and some of us end up at a shelter, missing our new family and the fun we had. So, Santa you don't have to stop at my house this year, I have everything I need. Use that time to place one of us that is not as fortunate with a family just like mine.

Thanks again Santa,

Hugs & Licks

What I Want for Christmas!

Dear Santa,

Well, first get rid of the Kitties! Take them away in your sleighs! I want a new bone, and could use a new ball, because the old one has holes in it, and that's not any fun! I want some stuff toys that look like cats, so I can rip them apart! Don't listen to that cat, Santa He is mean! He scratches me all the time!

Zoe's Christmas List

Dear Santa,

I am a four year old Cocker Spaniel-poodle mix and I have been a good girl this year. Well.......except for a little bit of Cocker Spaniel attitude here and there.

There is not much I want this year. Who needs more then a family that loves me and my Rubber Chicken. Don't even try to get me a new one because it just won't be the same. He may be slimy and kind of green but he is mine.

I've heard some kids say they want their two front teeth or a bike to ride on but more then anything Santa I want to be able to jump and play again. You see I was running last Wednesday when a sudden pain stopped me in my tracks. I lost the use of my back legs and my owners are not sure if they can afford the surgery to make me better.

I heard about your miracle on 34th street but can you please bring one my way?

Alfonzo's Christmas story

Dear Santa,

Hello my name is Alfonzo, I'm a 8 month old Bichon-poodle. My humans saved me from a bad breeding mill and lucky for me they did, I was very sick. It has taken over 5 months and a lot of vet visits to get me healthy but I'm on the road to recovery.

My Christmas wish list for this year is to be healthy so I can have fun and play with my humans. I have to say though that I've over heard them talking about buying me lots of gifts and a big stocking to put out for Santa to fill. So far I think I'm getting a toy box, toys and some clothes, but don't tell them I know what I'm getting they think it's a surprise.
Thanks and Have a Merry Christmas

From: Alfonzo Bye

P.S I think I would also like some more long underwear PJ's, they are cozy and warm. I wear a size medium.

All I want for Christmas

Dear Santa,

I want to be healthy, lately I've been not doing so well. And I want my Mom to find happiness in the coming year, maybe a new Dad for me! FURY

What Sissy Girl, would love for Christmas

Dear Santa,

I would like for all my fellow puppys who are in the awful puppymills, being used as breeders, over and over to be rescued. I would also like for all the other dogs to be rescued. That is my Christmas wish. I was one of the lucky ones. I was rescued at 1 month old and adopted at 3 months old. I am now 3 years old and living in the lap of luxury. My wish is that you would look help these poor fur babies and keep them safe and warm and help them find a better life. I have everything I could possibly want or need and I only pray that the others find that. That is my Christmas wish.

Merry Christmas to all,

Ann - Hildebran, NC

All I want for Christmas is you and a tennis ball

Dear Santa (my owner),

You found me, in a shelter. I looked sad and dirty. You took me home, loved me, cleaned me up and fed me. I felt like the luckiest dog in the world. Then each day you left me alone. I was so bored. I found some things to play with. You got mad at me when I played with your shoes, underwear and even your toothbrush.

You bought me some terrific toys and played with me. I was so happy. Then you left again each day and when you got home you were too tired to play with me. You would let me out in the yard. I got bored so I dug holes and tasted the plants out in the yard. I got sick. You took me to the vet, and I got better. But the toys just laid there. I tried to play with them but they didn't move. It wasn't fun without you.

Dear Santa (my owner) all I want for Christmas is my owner to play with me. Each day.

Love,

Shadow

Ginger, you are indeed a very good doodle girl, and I'm sure that in addition to granting your wishes, Santa Paws is going to leave you a few surprises in your stocking, too!
Dear Santa Paws:

Mom saved my letter until last because I’m the youngest. I have been here in my forever home for 1 year and 4 months, now. I really don’t really remember much about my life before being here because I am so happy. I love all my toys and I love my brothers and sister. I love my mom and dad and I love my big bed. I have been pretty good…lately; I have not chewed up any chairs in awhile. So, I guess that’s something.

I have a big back yard to play in and mom said that it’s my job to keep all the squirrels out, so I chase them all day long. It’s a very hard job because those darn squirrels like to get me mad. They have this one tree that they run up to get away from me. I will learn to climb that tree someday! Then those squirrels will be in big trouble. But I do my job everyday. That’s good, isn’t it?

For Christmas this year, I really would like some new stuffy toys. I don’t have any left from my birthday or from last Christmas. I am sorry to say that I really tried very hard to not tear them limb from limb, but I just couldn’t help myself. I don’t know what comes over me. I get that feeling that I’m a wild coyote on the wild frontier and that stuffy toy is my prey. And then when all that lovely white stuffing stuff comes out, it puts me into a fluff frenzy and I want to see how far across the house I can stretch the poofs. I fling it up in the air and it is wonderful.
Mommy isn’t too happy with me after that and I’m kinda sad that my stuffy toy is gone but I do dream of stuffy toys. So, that’s why I would like to get some new ones for Christmas. I promise to try really, really hard to control my “animal” side. Maybe you could bring me some to tear apart and some to keep nice. I don’t like squeaky one’s though. They scare me. I like the one’s that sound like ducks or grunts. Those are the absolute best.

So, Thank You Santa Paws. I hope you can bring me some new stuffy toys and if you can bring one for Ginger and one for Cody, I will eventually get theirs too. They try to hide them, but I always find them. I’m good at that. OOOH, I can’t wait for those new stuffy toys.

Love, Jack
Happy Holidays to one and all!
Jack, I happen to be a very good friend of Santa Paws', and I am pretty sure you are going to get some nice new stuffy toys for Christmas! Santa Paws knows you've tried very hard to be a good doodle this year!
Dear Santa Paws:

I have been a very good boy this year. I'm only naughty once in awhile, and if I ruin anything, it's usually my own stuff, not my mommy's. I'm not sure what ruin means, because I take the stuffing out of things to make them better, but "ruin" is a word my mommy uses. Anyway, since Mommy throws away my ruined toys (again, her word, not mine), I need some new stuffed toys. I like the sound of that floppy, stuffless cow some other doodles have talked about. The hide-a-squirrel toy sounds neat, as long as you promise there are no real squirrels in it. Real squirrels don't seem to like me, as they chatter at me all the time when I'm at my grandma's house, and I'm mostly minding my own business. My grandma will be making me some tasty, homemade treats, so any treats you have for me can go to other doggies that aren't as lucky as I am. And I can always use more tennis balls.

I had eye surgery and a forever home for Sophie on my list, but you've already taken care of that. My mommy won't let me have any early presents, so Sophie and her new mommy and daddy are lucky to have received such an early present. Now Sophie can start her new, wonderful life. Please get her some tennis balls, too.

Please help all of the doodles and other doggies in shelters (and I guess cats, too) find forever homes this season. All of them deserve to be as happy and well-treated as us doodles here on DK.

And one last thing...Being a good boy all the time does get kind of old. If you could get my mommy to put some of her shoes, socks, and underwear where I can reach them, it would give me a chance to be a little naughty every now and then. All good and no naughty makes Halas a dull boy.
Halas, you could never be a dull boy! I'm sure Santa Paws has lots of fun toys and tennis balls in his sack for you!
(But your mommy's undies are out of his jurisdiction, I'm afraid. Here's a tip, though...if there's a hamper, you might be able to chew up part of the lid. Worth a shot!)
Naughty! Naughty! Naughty!
This is adorable! I'm dancing! (And Jackdoodle is staring at me, LOL!)
Yeah, I thought so too! Even though it's not a doodle!
