Licking vaginal area

Trudie is being treated for bladder stones and has been on a special food to control them for over a year now.  Every now and again though, she licks, licks, licks her vaginal area.  I've looked to see if there is redness or signs of crystals but found none.  I rinse her area with clean water and then take her out to pee.  Any ideas?  She does not have an infection.

Have her checked by your vet.  It is probably something simple that you can take care of now.

I do not have any personal experience with crystals.  A friend's cocker had the issue and initially treated with rx food, but I do not think the rx food is meant to be given long term.  And it really irritate me that some vets are recommending rx food when not even necessary.  I think I might get a second opinion.

Have you tried "Cranimals a powder like substance to add to any food. Unlike the capsules of cranberry that have only 250 mg of cranberry this product has 2400 mg of cranberry extract with every teaspoon.  Ask your vet about them, some vets sell them; or research it online.
