I just wonder when and if he'll ever stop chewing on things he's not suppose to have. I can't remember when Scottie stopped, but I know he got quite a few pairs of shoes before he stopped. Lincoln is 2 and 1 month old now, He knows the leave it command really well, but if you aren't there to say leave it...I went upstairs to put my pyjamas on and I heard something not quite right, and sure enough...He did look somewhat guilty this time though...I think :D They were expensive. I found a website that sell glasses with bifocals (which wear) pretty reasonable. They aren't designer frames, but they'll do the trick. I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars on glasses if he's going to eat them. I have to be more careful, but when you wear them all the time it's hard to remember to put them away...sigh...
I think it must vary from dog to dog as to when they can start resisting temptation. Tara is one year and 3 months old now and she has not messed with any of our stuff for a long time. At least a year. But she is very passive and sensitive and really wants to please us and do what we ask of her. We can leave anything laying around and she will ignore it. But she is not a real heavy chewer either. That might make a difference too.
I can't figure out what the appeal is with GLASSES though! I have a friend with doodle that is a glasses chewer too. It seems weird. I understand your frustration. I can't read a thing without my glasses!
Lucky you Ricki. He steals paper towel, kleenex, eye glasses, shoes, and we tell him no or leave it over and over again. He has alot of things to choose of his own to play with, but our stuff just seems soooo much more exciting to him. I wonder if he doesn't do it for attention ;D We give him plenty of that too...
We're home all day with Tara too so maybe that makes a difference. Lots of opportunities for reinforcement!!
I had to walk away for a while :D I know it's not his fault...it's my fault for leaving them there...
