My suggestion is to memorize the What to Look for in a Breeder article first, and foremost. At the bottom of that article there are several 'leads': lists of breeders who do testing, by location. Here's how I would go about it. Look through the lists, look at some of the websites of the breeders on the east coast that look like they might have what you want. Compared them to the ideal breeder criteria (i.e. the article linked above) and then narrow it down to a handful of breeders. THEN bring your list here and ask for feedback about specific breeders on your list (by private message of course). But regardless of who responds by private message, you'll need to still see if the breeder fits the bill and does health testing, etc.
Ditto what Adina said. That really sums up where to start. And kudos to you for doing your homework and looking for a reputable breeder! I know it is exhausting and can be overwhelming but the end result is well worth the hard work.
Good luck and keep us all posted. I think several of us are completely invested in your story and are hanging by to see it through!
Good luck. You will be very glad in the long run. I have a backyard bred Springer who is beautiful, sweet, but...... we call him our bionic dog because we have spent about $10,000 on him due to orthopedic and skin problems to say nothing of the anxiety he has.
im so sorry to hear that. my kids would be inconsolable,
I didn't know any better when purchasing him - he is nine now. He is such a sweetie though and loved by everyone he meets, but the special favorite of my kids.
I think you and your family will be very happy you made this decision in the long run.

And I truly do not know any Amish Breeders in Lancaster, PA that are any where near recommending! EVER
Thank you, Laura for you patience and understanding and willingness to listen. We all live and learn. We learn so much from this forum.
