I want a doggie door that fits into my sliding patio door, and I want a radio controlled version to keep unwanted critters out of my kitchen.
Has anyone found this wonder-product? Better yet: has anyone installed it, and can actually recommend it ?? Where did you buy it and how much did it cost?
I've found patio doggie doors and radio controlled doors, but not a solution that combines these two features...
Our sleep and night time sanity is at stake!! One of our dogs insists on going out once or twice every night to pee, so we haven't had a good night's sleep in a very long time.
This is what I have for the walk out in our basement. I like it! It is expensive, but works well. It has a magnetic flap that automatically closes. I have never had a problem with critters getting in. Well.... they do get in once in a while, but only when the dogs carry them in, in their mouths! YUCK!
Thanks April ! I'm glad to hear this door is working for you !! I wanted a radio controlled door because we live on a wooded property with racoons, cats, bobcats etc etc, and I don't want those animals to come into my house ;) Another reason: the dogs are tall, so a door that can accommodate them may also be large enough for a person to squeeze through?
I have the exact same issues. We live on 10 wooded acres with a pond, and I have BIG dogs. My kids can (and do sometimes) use the doggie door. So, I understand your concerns. When I was looking at doors, this was the best I could find. We close and latch the doggie door a night, but that would defeat the purpose of you putting one in!
