Looking for a Female Goldendoodle Puppy for Christmas

I am looking for a Golden doodle puppy for my 12 year old daughter for Christmas. She has some allergies and have read that this will possibly help them. I am located in Ga and will pick up the dog. I am looking at getting one so she can get it Christmas day.

FarmerDoodles is a breeder in my area. There are 2 people I think on this site who have a dog from this breeder but I don't see them on here often.

Karen mention an F1b. The 75/25 mix.
My dog is an f1b and does not shed--but he mats continuously so he must be brushed almost daily and he has ear problems and always will if good ear care is not preformed. More common in the wooly-poodly curly coats

You must be feeling, "Oh, how disappointing" by the responses, but they are all right. I know you want the puppy for Christmas for your daughter, but It takes a long time to get that right puppy, plus like the others have said, there are waiting lists with good reputable breeders. AND, a new puppy is a chore at first and you really do not want that at Christmas. I agree, go to the breeders group here or check out the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle puppies groups and if you find something there, make an appt. to take your daughter and see how she is around them and then let her pick her own puppy out. She would love that. Good luck to ya.

As the others have said, Christmas is a very busy time for a puppy and it doesn't leave you with much time to research breeders. You could decide on a breeder and put a deposit down on an upcoming litter. Then for Christmas you can wrap a nicely framed picture of a goldendoodle pup along with some puppy toys and a goldendoodle book or two. Most breeders would be willing to send you the picture. It would be a fun way to tell her that her puppy is coming.

Spud came in January--after Christmas. It was perfect time. January is a slow boring month for us in NE Ohio and we had lots of time for a puppy.

As others have said, be aware that a goldendoodle has a good chance of shedding. I have an F1 and I have been EXTREMELY lucky that she does not shed. Most do. But she is losing that puppy hair and is matting like crazy....that comes with the non-shedding territory....must groom constantly! For a better chance at a non-shed pup, I would go for an F1B and I would really, really research a breeder before making such a big decision. Not that you have to spend an arm and a leg for a doodle, but some of the best breeders do charge much more for the health guarantees, which I would highly recommend. Also, Christmas pups are popular and most of the better breeders have pups that are already dedicated to a family.

But, I would definitely consider the advice given here regarding allergies. I am allergic to dogs and am lucky enough to have two labradoodles. But, I am an adult and made the decision to get a dog knowing the possible health consequences and prepared to deal with them. I think it is very different when your child is getting sick. We have an F1 labradoodle that does shed but hardly affects my allergies at all. We also have a multi-gen labradoodle that doesn't shed - I AM allergic to him, and sneeze and wheeze for hours after brushing him. Even if she doesn't react to the dog as a puppy, that may change as it goes through the coat change around a year old. Do you have a contingecy plan if your daughter does get sick? Will you be able to keep the dog, will it have to be rehomed?

Thank you for your responses. All of our animals are one of the family. We have been dealing with her allergies for years now. I have been in contact with a breeder that with the help of this forum may have found one. I will keep you posted and post a pic of her. There are 2 to choose from. One is curlier than the other.
