My wonderful Golden Doodle passed away from HGE. Just wondering if anyone knows of a Doodle we can adopt?

I am sorry to hear about your doodle.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Are you looking to adopt an adult doodle? If so, here's a link to the Doodle Rescue Collective's adoption application. There are quite a few dogs here in the Midwest who are new to the program and not yet listed; having an approved application on file improves your chances of successfully adopting: http://doodlerescue.org/page/adoption-application-2

So sorry to hear you lost your GD.  It is so heartbreaking. I hope you find the perfect doodle for your family.

Sorry for your loss. I wish you well in your new doodle search.

If you are looking for a rescue doodle, then you can go to petfinder.com, put poodle for the breed. Anything mixed with poodle will show up. There may be some in there advertised from local shelter and rescue groups in your area. Your best bet though is probably going directly to the source at the doodle rescue in the link above. I have been looking at petfinder a lot lately because we want to add another one. I am open though to what we get for the second one, it doesn't have to be a goldendoodle.

If you are looking for a breeder, then there is info on that as well. A good place to start is here. After reading the info then at the bottom there are links to breeders.

PLEASE do read and follow the guidelines Amy posted if you are looking to purchase a doodle puppy. Nothing is more important than genetic health testing of the breeding dogs.

I'm so sorry for your loss!

I second all of the suggestions made- looking on Doodle Rescue Collective's site, Petfinder, local shelters and local ads. After searching all of the above for about 6 months, we just added a second goldendoodle. We were VERY fortunate to find the perfect dog for us through a personal ad on a popular buy/sell website.

Be patient, do your homework, and good luck!

Thank you!

I'm sorry for your loss.  I hope you find a wonderful new doodle to add to your family.

Get busy and you will find the perfect dog for you.  DRC is a great way to go and occasionally a doodle will show up in a local shelter.  If you go by occasionally to check things out, another dog might just steal your heart.  The right dog for you is out there, just keep looking around.  We have a rescue group out here for elderly who need to find a new home for their beloved pet, or a long-term shelter that often turns into a permanent home.  Lots of options and lots of dogs who need a loving home.  If you can provide that, then you are well on your way.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am sure the perfect dog is out there waiting for you to find him/her.  Good luck in your search.

Hi Karen & Jackdoodle, we are not looking for an adult doodle but thank you very much for your reply.

The word "adopt" confused me, because typically that means adopting a homeless dog from a shelter or rescue. I know the breeders call it "adoption" when you buy a puppy, but in fact it's not "adopting", it's buying, lol. Nothing wrong with purchasing a puppy from a reputable breeder.
