Should I be concerned that my 8 month old puppy is losing her wiskers? She has lost 3 (that I know of) this past week. What does this mean?!

I doubt it means anything but I have never given it much thought or heard of it.  When we start grooming our Doodles we are going to be cutting them off anyway so Doodles are not the kind of dog you would see sticking out whiskers.  I think they do just fall out from time to time though.  I would find a whisker every now and then from my cat yet he always had a full face of whiskers!  Interesting subject though!

They are hairs so I would assume they fall off just like other hairs?

I found this from a little internet searching:  http://perfectpuppycare.com/dog-whiskers/

"

You have probably noticed that a dog’s whiskers can become split or damaged. If this happens, it is best to leave the damaged ones alone. Dogs do shed their whiskers occasionally and new ones will grow in to take the place of the damaged ones.

Never pluck a dog’s whiskers. Trimming would be the lesser of two evils because plucking a dog’s whiskers can cause bleeding. Whiskers are sometimes called “bleeding hairs” for this reason."

I don't think Quincy has any whiskers left, they fell out when he was a puppy. We did ask the vet about it and he said it was nothing to worry about. Of course if they do use whiskers to help them smell it would explain why he can't find me when we are playing hide and seek and we are in the same room. :>)

Ha Ha!!

Thanks all :) hehe funny topic, I know!
