I was looking at Jack and noticed that he has developed a couple of large pink spots on his lower lip.  His lips used to be all black.  I remembered that i had noticed a small light spot on his lip a couple of weeks ago.  I started looking back at some of his pictures to compare.  I started searching on the internet and found that it could be Vitiligo.  This is definitely different than the "snow nose" that happens to some black noses.  Has anyone else experienced this?

This picture was taken in July 2014.  Notice the pink spot on his bottom lip.  It has since gotten more pronounced.

He's not one of the breeds commonly affected, but it could be vitiligo. It's purely cosmetic and shouldn't affect his health, as you probably read, but you may want to have the vet take a look and possibly do a skin scraping to rule out something else.

It could be an injury?  Maybe he touched his lips to something hot? My dog had this after a blister from playing too hard with a toy.

The neighbor's pup used to stick his nose and mouth on the chain-link fence to get at rabbits and would scrap his skin. While healing the new skin often does not have the same pigment.

Who knows?  Like Karen said, let your vet know if it continues

I know it is not an injury. I've noticed the front spot the past few months. It used to be a light gray spot that was smaller than a pea. Last night I noticed all color was gone, it is now pink and has grown. There is no variation in the texture of his skin. From what I've read it is probably not going to affect his health, and I'll let the vet know. I was just wondering if any one else had experienced this.
My Lily has spots of color loss also. Not from injury or infection, just changing color on her mouth from black to pink. I never really thought it to be a problem as long as there were no scabs.
We've just noticed this on our puppy. I've attached a pic. Just wondering if you figured out why this was happening,

When he was at the vet in May we asked him about it. His response was that is very common and does not effect his health.
Great, thanks so much for the reply. :-)
