I was throwing the tennis balls around for Luca. Calla has little interest in them but occasionally she'll catch one thrown practically into her mouth, if she's in the mood. I had my camera and decided the only way to get some pictures would be if I put the ball somewhere and got the story.

Despite my pointing he was confused at first:Eventually he caught on:

Then he managed to really get it:

But this is how he usually looks outside when he's not shredding a stick:

So I was wondering if this is part of the reason he gets so much less tartar than Calla. She will chew on a bone or antler sometimes. But we've had discussions on the abrasiveness of tennis balls. Maybe there is just enough chewing versus too much. Tennis balls are not allowed in the house so Luca's chew time with them is limited. All in all this was something to do because we are a bit stir crazy here : )

Interesting theory. I'll give that some thought.  We have thrown out all tennis balls here in our home.  GREAT. Well not so great because he finds hats, socks, our freshly worn shirts, anything cloth to carry around in his mouth.  Constantly. He rarely chews anything up, just needs things in his mouth.

Spud's teeth, at only three years or age,  are very worn down but I don't see the plaque so much.  Vet said, " Let them wear. He has the teeth of a retriever"

LOVE THE PICTURES

Thanks. Luca carries the Orbee globes around:

I'll take Luca's recommendation. I've seen those around a lot.  Right now, Spud has a supply of Chuck Its

another thing, what a great stimulating exercise for a bored dog.  Find and get the ball. (Of course, not for Ricki and Tara but oh never mind)

LOL

In defense of Tara, sometimes Luca looks through the ball too.

I would think that tennis ball color would be a hard one for them to find too, especially on grass.

I'm beginning to think there are lots of doodle "overlooking" their balls! I was just dumbenough the only one to post a video of it as it happened!

Thanks for defending my girl! I'm going to print this off and hang it next to my Hokum Award!

I am so glad to have made your day. Pretty soon you won't need art on the walls, the awards and things will be enough.

I guess I'll put that Monet in my next garage sale.

Oooh, when is it? I haven't gotten any awards lately so I have room.

I heard that Joanne!!

Teaching a doodle to climb trees, now that should relieve the boredom.  ">) The jury is still out on the tennis ball issue, we still have some but I don't let Quincy chew them.
