Make my own grain free dog food?

Hi everyone, 

I have been doing some research on grain free dog food. I bought some Taste of the Wild, which is super expensive! And it only lasted four days.  I've been reading that a lot of people make their own grain free dog food. Or they just combine the grain free bagged food with something else to make more. Does anyone have any insight to this? Maybe there is already a discussion about it and I just haven't found it yet. I would love some helpful tips.

Also, the bigger bags cost less overall. So buy a bag that will last a month if you do that. Some of those very small trial size bags are much more expensive if you are not just sampling.

the smaller bags do cost significantly more. The best prices for TOTW that I have found are at Tractor Supply Co. :)
