I must have the two most precocious pups in the world. Sherlock, who is 8 months old now, starting lifting his leg a week before he turned 4 months old. I had him neutered the same weekend. Noah is only 11.5 weeks old, and today, he was lifting his leg on what seemed like every other plant he walked by. I bent down to check and he was definitely marking. Noah watches what Sherlock does and likes to mirror his actions. Did anyone else have a puppy this young lift his leg? At least Sherlock never lifts his leg in the house, so hopefully Noah won't try to do this either.

hmmmm, you've got a handful there :-)
I haven't heard of any dogs marking at such an early age... I wonder if he would be a good candidate for early neutering instead of waiting the typical amount of time until he turns five or six months. Hopefully somebody else has had experience with this.
I've never heard of this happening so young. As a matter of fact, Hudson just started at 6.5 months and I thought that was young - he isn't doing it consistently though. What I found strange was that right after he was neutered - he started really getting humpy - his big stuffed fluffy ball and his dog bed are his favorite....um....exercise points. Then just after that he started lifting his leg on occassion. That's been going on for about 2 weeks now.

What are you feeding them? :-)
Takoda is 8 months old...he still does not lift his leg.
