Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
It's been a long 3 1/2 weeks since we got our Marley but we love him so much. He's been worth the sleep deprivation and my wife's quick trips home at lunch time. We took him to the vet this past Saturday morning for his latest round of shots. He weighs in at 18.25 lbs at 10 weeks. We've been working with him on some basic tricks. He sits, lays down, gives his paw, high fives (as pictured below), and we've been working on leave it / take it. We can have him lay down, paws out in front of him, and place kibble on the top of his paws. He'll not eat it until commanded. He still struggles with roll over. Crate training is going very well. He sleeps through the night now. We keep our other two dogs in the laundry room with him and he is happy. Max, our 10 year old Lhasa-Poo, and Marley became fast friends. They love to wrestle and play tug of war with Max's rope toy. Marley is quickly overtaking Max in size & weight though. Max is 18lbs so we're not really sure how this will play out when Marley reaches his adult weight. Marley torments our poor little 9 pound Shorkie, Sophie. She doesn't like to wrestle or play like Max does and Marley chases her around the living room until she retreats under something he can't get under. We're hoping he'll grow out of that soon. Sophie doesn't seem to mind the chase part. She wags her tail and barks a playful bark but she doesn't enjoy the surprise pounce when she's not paying attention. Pics below of our Marley giving a high five.

What a smart pup! I'm glad he has adjusted to his crate and sleeping in the laundry room. I love the high five pictures :)
Thanks!
Yeah...we thought we were doing him a favor by keeping the other two dogs separate. We though it would keep him from sleeping but it turns out, he loves the company. Max & Sophie both sleep on their bed at the door of Marley's crate.
Here's a pic of Max & Marley after a hard play session.
Marley is a lucky boy to have a playmate! And so sweet that your other two dogs sleep right next to his crate. It sounds like they are all getting along well.
Wow...He sure does look like Zena. She is beautiful.
Very cute pictures! And a very smart boy :) My Chloe does the high five too. If you can get Marley to roll over, please send me the tips of the training as I can't seem to get Chloe to do it either.
Will do!
How adorable....
Marley is so SMART!
:)
What a smart, handsome boy.
I'm glad he has siblings to help tire him out! I'm stuck using human children and they aren't as effective...yet. ;)
