Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm in Nashville, TN and I keep an eye on the possible doodles in area non-rescue shelters.  I have family in Michigan so I keep an eye on that area also.  Here is a labradoodle listed in the Gladwin, Mich shelter.  The fee is $20 + spay/neuter cost.  This boy is young and looks like a treasure.

Have any of the rescues tagged him?  If not, surely a Michigander needs another, even temporary, doodle.  I grew up in Mich & I know we love our dogs :-)

Yay! You did it! It's so stinking hard to let go (especially the very first time) but have helped this sweet boy immeasurably!!
Thanks so much Suzann, Adrienne & everyone for getting this guy out of the shelter. It's been crazy for me and I wouldn't have been able to do it. We had a unexpected turn of events as my Grandma in Mich died last Thurs, so off I came to Mich for tons of funeral and family stuff. I wouldn't have been able to juggle a new doodle in the midst of everything so I'm THRILLED to see that everything worked out. Gladwyn looks like a true delight - what joy he will bring some family! Why, oh why, would someone abandon a dog like that?!?!? I will try to think on the bright side and assume that he was somehow inexplicably seperated from his family and, though they did everything humanly possible, they were unable to find him. Thanks again - once my life settles down I will probably join the Doodle rescue team :-)
Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Jennifer! We would love to have your help! And I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. Hugs to you.
Jennifer, So sorry to hear about your Grandmother. Hope you all find some peace with what you are going through just as you have brought some peace to very handsome Goodwyn.
UPDATE:
Gladwyn went home last Saturday, September 25th. He is living in Downers Grove, IL (yay!) and has two human brothers who are crazy about him already. His new name is Finley ( which means fair-haired warrior in Gaelic) Gladwyn. (His new family also loved the name we gave him here, meaning "light-hearted friend)
Getting Gladwyn from that kill shelter in rural Michigan to his forever home involved a true team effort. One month, and a long journey from Michigan to Ohio to Illinois. From Jennifer, who first saw his petfinder listing and posted it here, to Adrianne who arranged to pull him, to Suzann, who went and got him and cared for him overnight (read Suzann's blog here ) to his foster mom Sue, who loved and nurtured him through his neuter surgery and a nasty bout of kennel cough, to all of you who who posted here and all of the DRC members who arranged his adoption, Gladwyn has touched so many hearts. Thanks to all of you, from Finley Gladwyn and me.

Well, that is a happy ending again. And aside from boys, and every dog can use boys, it looks like he has a nice yard and toys to play with.
