Thanks to your amazing support, this groundbreaking bill passed the House of Representatives Committee on July 28. But there is more work to be done -- and time is running out! We are calling on you today to urge the Senate Economic Development and Regulatory Reform Committee to pass the bill.
Companion animals depend on humans for their safety and well-being. When Class B dealers can obtain cats and dogs from animal shelters, it diminishes the shelters’ purpose, tarnishes Michigan’s reputation and betrays public trust, especially in difficult economic times when more pet owners are having to relinquish their beloved pets to shelters in the belief they will be adopted out to loving homes.
