Missouri puppy mills - these dogs need our help

Hi all,

 

Tragically, 40% of puppy mills in the US are located in Missouri. There are over 200,000 breeding dogs in these places, and many are subjected to unbelievable pain and suffering.

 

Legs was rescued from one of these hellholes. A number of the dogs rescued from there had to have their little limbs amputated because their coats were so matted, and cut off their circulation. Here are some photographs of Legs before and after her rescue:

Thanks for this reminder, Linny. One more thing is that Missouri has some new laws up for vote under Prop B this November which would at least give some regulation to some of the worst atrocities that are being committed on the dogs in puppy mills. I don't want to go into detail as it is too horrible. If you are positive thinkers or prayers please keep this vote in your thoughts. It has a lot of support from all the major animal welfare organizations but it is also facing a lot of opposition as the puppy mills are huge income producers in Missouri.

This is just so disgusting. So many of us have been unaware of how truly awful these mills are and that people could actually treat animals in such a way. It really is too bad that we couldn't just put the mill owners and their families in those wire-floored crates for a day or two and see how they like it....... Lets all of us keep publicizing these atrocities as much as we can.
