Moving tips anyone?

I wrote a big long blog about moving the dogs to Hawaii and Kona's surgery update, but it was lost somehow. I haven't got time to recap right now, but I am hoping that if anyone has moving tips for doodles that you will share them with me. We are moving to our son's house for a week and then flying to Hawaii. The dogs are on different flights so DH is flying on the same plane as Kona, and I am flying on the same plane as Owen. They are 90 and 70 respectively so they won't actually be "with" us.

As of this afternoon both dogs are looking mighty depressed. Suitcases are being packed, and it's chaos around here.

The packers come on Wednesday to put everything in boxes. On Thursday they load it into a truck or crate or whatever to ship it overseas. 

We have the dogs sleeping in their airline crates. That's all I know to do right now. Sooo, helpful ideas anyone?

Yes, it's quite overwhelming. My DH and I moved often over the years but we're wondering if it gets harder when we're older or if we've just forgotten how hard it was!

We leave our house this week but do not fly to Hawaii until July 3&4. So no worrying for the doodles until July. We will be staying at our son's house. The dogs know it well but our son's family won't be there. The dogs adore our grandchildren. They'll be confused not to have their playmates around.

Please keep us posted on how your precious ones do with the flight. I know I am overly protective & am a worry wort.
I had to fly home home with Chloe, my mini GD. I flew 1st Class, had her in an air line approved carrier, gave her meds & she was still all wigged out. She hates crates & riding in a car. I don't know what I would do if I had to do this again.
I am not trying to add to your concern. I am more looking for positive feedback from others if I should need to do this again.

Hi Carol, Thank you for your kind concern. I made myself sick worrying about this. We have arrived in Hawaii, safe and sound. We've had a romp at the beach and all's right with the world! I never ever want to fly them again!!!
