Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone -
We have had our house on the market in Atlanta for nine months. Thankfully, it has finally sold; however, the buyers want to close on April 8. My husband (who transfered for his job) has been living in an apartment in Charlotte, NC during this time and coming back to Atlanta on the weekends. There is no way we can find a home in two weeks and we want to take our time to find the right one for us. So my DH and I, and our almost two-year-old goldendoodle Finley will be living in a two bedroom apartment for the time being.
My question for all the Charlotte area doodle owners is: does anyone have suggestions for a great veterinarian and groomer in the area. We are looking to buy in the Ballantyne/Waxhaw/Weddington area of Charlotte so a vet in north Charlotte might not work for us. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate them.
By the way, Finley and I would love to get together with anyone looking for a play date. I do not work and would be available anytime plus it would be great to meet some new doodle friends who live in the Charlotte area.
Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the area Sue!
You are looking to move in one of the more populated areas of Charlotte so you should have no trouble whatsoever finding a vet or a groomer near you but if you hop on 485 and hit 85 North to Belmont there is a WONDERFUL groomer. www.milliondollardoginc.com
The owner, Tara, is absolutely lovely and they groom TONS of doodles! We took Rosie there about 2 weeks ago and there were about 6 doodles! She does an amazing job and really truly cares about her facility and her clients.(and she knows how to groom doodles!) It should only take you about 25 minutes from your area if you take the loop. Traffic is a pickle in the area you're moving in to so you honestly might not want to make the trip but depending on the time of day you could conceivably whip right up here in no time! You could drop Finley off in the morning and run some errands in the area (lots of great shopping up here!) and have him be ready to be picked up by 11!
Good luck with your move! If I can help in any other way just pop me a message :)
Thank you so much for your suggestions. It is just as hard to find a good vet and groomer as it is to find a good hair stylist and doctor for myself haha! That's what I hate most about moving.
I certainly understand traffic - Atlanta traffic is horrible. My groomer is maybe five miles from our house and it can take 40 minutes to get there and back if I am driving during rush hour (which is actually 4:30-7:00).

This was in our local paper this morning. Not a great claim to fame! LOL Unfortunately the route is down near your area but, thruthfully, once you learn the "timing" you can honestly utilize 485 to get all around Charlotte in no time at all if it's the right time of day. Other than that one stretch of 485 it's a fantastic way to get around so if you find yourself falling in love with a good hair stylist or doctor for yourself don't let distance scare you----just time it right :)
Mooresville is VERY "north" from the area Sue is moving to but Teresa would be a wonderful person to ask! Great suggestion Ronna!
My niece just wrote me back on FB. Here is what she said.
We actually live in the Ballantyne area so that is perfect. We go to Mixed Pet Vet of Ballantyne. We just switched to this one not too long ago just because our other one was too far away (it was near where we used to live in our apt). It's pretty reasonable as far as pricing out here. There can be some very expensive ones out here. They have a website too
