MUSHER'S SECRET PAW PROTECTION

Okay, so I ordered this stuff because it said that it would help with the "slippery paw" issue that we are having with Faye.  I assumed it would be a bit tacky.  Not the case.  It feels more like a very silky lotion.  I think is to keep their pads from cracking or getting dried out.  Which is not our issue.  So, if anyone else is thinking about getting this for "slippery paws" don't waste your money.  If nothing else, she'll have very soft paws.

I don't know what you mean by slippery paws since dogs will always slide on slick surfaces like hardwood floors. I've been using Musher's secret to protect their paws from cracking or from snow sticking to the paws.

I love it for humans...best thing I've ever used on my hands when they get severely dry in winter. My son thinks it's a miracle too, his hands will bleed from dryness but after one application they are better. I don't think it's promoted as an anti slipping agent? I've not heard that. Maybe rubber booties would be better? We have hard wood floors and just try not to let Sawyer run on them. He doesn't slip as long as he's not too crazy on them.

Need application feedback from Mushers users.  We are getting ready to head to the river for four days and I know Sassparilla's pads are in for a beating.  We've not had a trip like this in two years so we all have tender feet.  I still haven't found the neoprene boots that my last pup used that were amazing!  

So application;  Just rub it in??  Does it leave a thin coat??  How do I know there is enough on her/their pads to prevent burning?  The weather is cooling so the temps are not going to be in the 100's like we are used to but I'm sure it'll be warm and just the fact all our feet are tender the terrain will no doubt play a role? I tried it a while back and it seemed like it absorbed into their pads so not sure I was doing it right?  Used the nose coat sunblock on my Josie and it worked great! (In case anyone is interested).   Gotta remember to pack it!  TIA

Musher's secret is just like a greasy coating and wears off quickly. I have never found it useful even in snow. It may be good for dry cracked paws but not much else and that's how I see it. lol

I've used it and thought it was kind of waxy. At least it was waxy on my finger when I apply it! Seems to work...
