After the 6 inch snowfall and frigid temps in Chicago, I broke down and bought Bo a pair of Muttluck boots this morning.

Bo is 10 months-old now and really quite a calm puppy.  He laid very still while I put his boots on and what a chore THAT was.  I know that with some practice, they'll go on easier.  Let me tell you though, they were worth the time it took to get them on.  They are WONDERFUL!!

At first Bo was walking a bit funny and didn't know what to make of those things on his paws but it didn't take him long and he was walking outside like normal and loving the fact (I'm sure) that his paws weren't freezing.

I highly recommend these boots.  They are a bit more expensive than others ($53 for size large) but oh so worth it!

We love ours too and we don't have snow!!!  I put them on Gracie when I don't want her to get stickers or foxtails in her paws or if she has an injury that I am protecting.  She is like a bucking bronco when they first go on the back feet but she instantly forgets they are there when she sees her tennis ball.  When on the front paws she walks like a Clydesdale Horse with big high stepping.  It is hysterical to watch.  lol

We have Muttluks as well and I find I have to be careful putting them on that I don't hook the dewclaw. Lately I have been putting socks under them and they slide on much easier. Quincy runs when he sees them but once outside they don't bother him in the least.

Socks are a great idea!!  I'm going to have to try that.  Thanks for the tip.

I love the Muttlucks but unfortunately I have noticed that they may not hold up past this winter. I was sort of hoping they would last a bit longer. They are ripping at the sees a bit and the reflective strip is coming off. But other than that thye are super awesome and worth the money!

I bought some for Haley last year.  They work real good - no snow since!  I put them on him the other day.  It was raining and he wanted to play ball.  We played in the house and he didn't tear up the floor.

Take some pictures please. I would love to see your babies wearing them.

I have brought some for Wilson but He does not like them at all!! I have gotten some Mushers wax to help prevent some of those snowballs he gets in his paws, and it WORKS!   When he gets some I just brush off his paw, the snow comes off a lot easier then I had thought.

I would LOVE to have these but DH thinks that they are not out there long enough. Chloe could go for more walks if we didn't have to worry about the neighbor's salt and street salt. I suppose the pet store would take them back if Chloe refused to wear them? It's strange how Chloe's hair attracts ice balls instantly and Myla's are not that bad. I just worry about the pads. If you use the wax do the dogs tend to want to lick their paws????
