Natural Flea and Tick Protection?

I searched for natural products for prevention and there are pages of them on the internet. Searched DK and there is a lot of older info.   Need some recommendations and testimonials. Using Frontline but I'm not crazy about using the chemicals.  Tucker already had a tick on his head.  Little sister McKenzie  (Yorkie) is allergic to Frontline and I cannot use any the chemical products on her. Any suggestions?   Thanks,

We actually used two products for ourselves when we go camping... the first we have tried is deetless and is supposed to work on mosquitoes, ticks, etc. but has a strong lemony eucalyptus oily feel/smell. It's called Repel Lemon Eucalyptus Pump Insect Repellent. Another we humans tried that is odorless and not greasy was Natrapel Picaridin Insect Repellent - I wonder if I could use this on Tori? And how effective they would be, and for how long. It says lasts 8 hours for people.. Using Frontline makes me a bit nervous. She comes on our furniture and I really don't want her to rub that on our couch, or even beds....but then again - Sh'es so black, that it would be hard to find a tick! YUCK! Ticks just freak me out!
