Here's a link to all our past Front Page Slide Show themes...some we repeat every so often, but I'm looking for NEW ideas for the coming months. Check out what we've done...and please make your suggestions here!
Some things to consider
...themes should be themes that are fairly easy to capture/photograph or things that don't involve too much interpretation--otherwise it might be better to just start a thread on a photo theme and have people respond that way.
...there should already be a fair number of photos that FIT the theme on the site -- this means that members wouldn't all have to take brand new photos, but could if they wanted to.
More assignments. This is almost like work :) How about you ask people to tag the photos and you could then find them much more easily than I. My bet is that there are more than 20.
I don't expect you or anyone to search ALL the photos, but in general if you are pretty darn sure you've seen a bunch of a certain theme ... then I'd gladly use it. At least in the past if there weren't already quite a few photos to fit a theme already on the site, then I had a hard time getting a full or partly full slide show. So I've learned to not announce a theme and tag unless I was pretty sure we'd get a lot of participation on it.
I just did a search in photos for "baby". It yielded 512 photos, and there were actual human babies in exactly 20 of them. Lots and lots of baby doodles!
Karen, your industry knows no bounds! Does that mean I lose the bet because there were exactly 20 babies. No, now that I think about it some photos may not have had tags or titles that would indicate a baby was in the picture. For instance someone might have a title of "My granddaughter and Spot". So more than likely there are more than 20 babies, don't you think?
We probably need another tutorial/reminder about tagging photos and the purpose. It's more than just for slide shows... it helps people find common photos like RED doodles or doodles SWIMMING...ETC. :)
I could have sworn we had a "Doodles & kids" slide show, but I didn't see it...so how about "Doodles & Kids"?
