Meet Minga - she needs the Doodle Train to get

her from Jackson, Michigan to Thornville, Ohio,

east of Columbus

Can anyone help her get out of the shelter and into

the arms of a loving foster Mom?

Hi Adrianne, I am in Ann Arbor, MI. I have never participated in a doodletrain before but may be able to help. I would need more details. What is the best way to discuss further?
I emailed you my cell # - call me. I can answer all questions you have!
TY TY TY!!!!
I never got your message, I added you as a friend so can you send it again?
I am not near the area, but would love an update. Is Rosey helping??
We are going to try, Adrienne is working on the details! Bandy is helping too:):)
I have to Toledo covered - anyone available from Toledo South??
Have you Posted in the Ohio Group? I'm 2:45 minutes West of Toledo but there are a few in that group and area who have offered to help (last fall) when an S.O.S. went out.
Adrianne, I may be able to help. I live close to Findlay, OH which is along the route. My son lives in the Columbus area. I could help transport and stop by and see my son who lives in Columbus too!
Forgot to ask when this is going to happen. Today?
I love the doodle underground railroad!!
okay so as I said before I have not done this before. Can you all give me some tips? Should I put her in a crate or let her just be in my car? Are shelter's nice or mean people?? Should I take someone with me?
I think most shelters are nice, but obviously can't speak for all. I would definitely take a crate. If you have one that folds up it would be better that way if for any reason he freaks out in the crate you can fold it up and just put him in the car. My recommendations would be: Blankets for the seats to protect them, some treats, water and waterbowl, 2 leashes, 2 collars (martingale or something he can't slip out of). Always keep 2 leashes and 2 collars on him as some rescues are a flight risk. I'd also take some paper towels and something to clean up any accidents that might happen. Never know he might get car sick. Always be sure when you open the car doors on any stops that you have a hold of the leashes first .... that is really important if he isn't crated. If he is crated have the leash on him and in your hand before you give him room to get out of the crate. Then hold on tight. It helps if you can take someone with you as then there is someone to comfort him if he seems nervous. He'll probably be so happy to be out of the shelter .... but he also might be really scared and timid so just try to remain calm so he doesn't pick up on your nervousness and gets a feeling of calm from you. That's about all I can think go. Thanks so much for jumping in to help this guy!
