New Dog Bed for Winston

I'd like to get Winston a nice new dog bed. Something that will last a long time but with a cover I can remove and wash. there are so many different kinds and they can be quite pricey so I want to be sure to get the right kind.

 

Any suggestions of what kind to get?  What are some good online spots for dog bed shopping?

I was all set to order Ollie one of the beds from Greener Pup but I'm glad I waited because he seems to prefer sleeping on the wood floor most of the time.  If he ever starts sleeping in a bed, I'm going to consider this company again though  (http://www.greenerpup.com/).  The beds are made in the US, the filing is made from 100% recycled plastic soda bottles, the covers are removable and washable and come in many different colors and patterns.  100% of the profits go towards helping homeless dogs and if you have a rescue dog you get 25% off of your purchase.  The shipping seemed a bit expensive though.

We have four beds and they vary significantly in price.  The fact is my boys like them all the same.  I have one from Orvis, one from Black Dog, one from In The Company of Dogs, and one from Home Goods.  The one from Home Goods that I bought on sale for about $25 (and it's pretty large), seems to be every bit as comfortable at the others that were way more expensive.  So, I guess for our Doodles, price just doesn't seem to matter.  I'd look for some bargains.

Here's the newest favorite bed in our house.....it's a Harry Barker bed (yes I did say Harry Barker).  I got it from www.harrybarker.com.

Guinness "bugged" Murph so much that he just got annoyed and gave up the bed...

We got a great one at Costco for about $85. It's big (our doodle is 65 lbs and growing) and it has sides so he can curl up and put his head on them and rest like a pillow. (He think he's a person). You can remove all pieces and wash them. (They also offer free shipping!)

I like the bolster on this one, it looks cozy. I'm not sure about the polyester fill, but it is partly filled with cedar chips which is interesting. I bet that keeps it smelling fresh.
