Hi, everyone! My husband and I just welcomed the sweetest Goldendoodle 'Hudson' into our home last week. He joins Lola, our 5 year old Bulldog. In one short week, I have absolutely, without a doubt, fallen in love with this gentle, sweet baby.

I look forward to learning from all of you doodle experts. Being an experienced Bulldog mom, I know high maintenance firsthand, but am new to the world of grooming. I'm sure there is a lot for me to read regarding that on this forum.

Welcome to DK.  Hudson is so adorable.  What a unique looking pair you have.  The best thing you can do as far as grooming right now is get him used to being handled.  Get him up an a table or a kitchen island (or buy a grooming table) and comb and brush.  Make it positive with treats etc.  When ever you are sitting around holding him rub his ears and his toes and between his paw pads.  Rub his belly and his face.  Let him be around you when you are blow drying your hair, put the wind in his face.  All these things will help down the road when the coat becomes much more high maintenance.
