Well, Charlie closed up the two escape exits that Zeppo was using to get out of the yard, and he found another.  Can you believe he climbs up on the burl, onto the tree, and out over the back yard (garden area) and jumps down off the tree.  It really is more like a goat than a dog, but it is his new way out.  Then he can go out to the garden, up on the wall, and jump over the six-foot fence from the wall.  This dog is an escape artist for sure.  Hopefully two bigger dogs will curtail his actions a little.  They are too big for all his escape routes.

We use to have a Golden who did the same thing!  She literally figured out to jump from a   low round table, up to a pile of wood, to a tree and up and over.  These guys keep us on our toes!

Absolutely.

Keepers. Good luck.

Oh my!

Such a smart dog;-)

You have your hands full :)

Wow....sign this guy up for Agility Trials.

He is either Houdini or a great explorer - lovely tree by the way.

Our first GSD was a great climber/jumper, anything - anytime - anywhere, but luckily it was only if she felt it was needed.

Your yard is lovely! Yes, little dogs present their own set of problems, like being able to escape from places much more easily.  Perhaps the reason Zeppo was in a rescue was because he escaped from somewhere????

That's what Charlie says.  Maybe he escaped so many times and they were tired of looking for him so they just let him stay at the shelter when he was picked up.  The multi-breed rescue got him from the shelter in Martinez.  He obviously had lots of people skills so probably was owned previously by someone who could not keep him in an enclosed area.  Makes sense.

Ha - reminds me of when I was dog-sitting for a friend.  She rescued a runaway (Jack Russell type)  but he had kennel cough and couldn't be around her other dogs so I was keeping him for a few days.  It was one of those hot, hot summer days and I was watering my garden.  When I went to go inside he slipped out and ran away.  When she called me later that day to see how he was doing I said I found out why he was a runaway - because he likes to run away!  PS - I did find him after looking for about 3 hours and she had him for many years.

Oh My!  This would make me crazy  I agree, sign him up for agility
