Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi Sara,
Breeder recommendations or reviews are not permitted in the open forums. People may send you a private message if you accept a friend request from them. But remember, everyone loves their dog and thinks he's the greatest, so personal recommendations don't really mean much. I have seen people recommend known puppy mills and on-line brokers.
A better way to select a breeder is to use the following guidelines: http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/What_To_Look_for_In_a_Breeder
This is the minimum you should require. In addition, I would not buy from a breeder who lets the dogs go home before they are 8 weeks old, I would not buy from a breeder who breeds dogs younger than 2 years old, and i would not buy from a breeder who requires you to feed a specific brand of food.
As to the differences between goldendoodles and labradoodles, keep in mind that they are all different anyway. One labradoodle can be very different from another labradoodle, and the same goes for goldendoodles. They are mixed breed dogs with very few characteristics in common from one to the next, even within the same litter. I think you will be happy with either one. The main thing is health and temperament.
This is an excellent discussion that touches on everything you may have heard about doodles, and is a must read for anyone considering a doodle: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/considering-a-doodle-crowd...
Good luck in your search.
Welcome to DoodleKisses - the best website around for doodle lovers everywhere. I don't know about Austin, Texas, but I don't think we are supposed to recommend breeders on the main forum. Too many problems with that one. I have gotten my doodles from all over the place and have them sent by air, but there are also lots of comments about that. If you want to get specific recommendations, that should be done with private comments and you can communicate with your friends privately in your inbox. Good luck is selecting the perfect breeder and doodle.
