Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi everyone!

Just thought I'd introduce myself although I've been lurking for MONTHS...since October when we were placed on a wait list for a brown male F1B standard goldendoodle.

Well, the pups were born Super Bowl Sunday.  5 girls and 2 boys.  The breeder tells me both boys will be curly.  Love your thoughts and comparisons with your pup.  We have first pick.  If the wait list isn't full, I could possibly go with a girl.   PRESSURE.

I'm trying not to fall in love with either but wait until we get there and watch how they interact with their brothers and sisters, listen to what the breeder has to say about personalities, etc. etc.

It's early to ask what you think about their coats so I'll just say hi and post pics as I get them!

REALLY excited to be here!!

OK everyone, meet Henly.  (I hope I posted the pics right.)

Hi Mary ~ these puppies are all so cute.  Their coats are gorgeous.  Providing the personality is what you want, I would take either of these beautiful boys, but then I have a preference for boys.  We have two male ALDs (they are 4 and 2).  I can see why you are so excited.  Be sure to check out the groups section on the main page and join as many as you like.  There is a terrific puppy madness group and also the grooming group will help you get started on the right foot.  Welcome to Doodle Kisses!  Looking forward to seeing which of the puppies will turn out to be Henly!

Thanks Linda! I joined both groups plus a few others. I'm sure I'll find more.

Beautiful! Ruby picked us. She interacted with us immediately, went back and forth from both of us, snuggled, yet got down and played independently and with the other pups. She seemed to have a very strong bond with her beautiful, gentle mother and frequently checked in with her [a little kiss on the nose and then off to play]. There was no choice. She made it. I suspect you will know. Give yourself time, let them come to you, watch them alone and together, with mom and with the "seller."

Your description I how she picked you is so sweet!
Welcome to DK. The pups look beautiful. I have a male and female and they are both great :-)
Thank you!

Welcome to DK!  You must be so excited!  It's soooo hard to wait to bring a puppy home, especially when you can see them all and not know which one is yours!  Lucky for you they are all gorgeous!   I too was on this website constantly while waiting for my Myla to come home!  I learnt so much here and I thought I was pretty dog savvy before :)  Glad you're going to post more pics - I love seeing new puppy pictures!

I am SO EXCITED!! I was checking in with the breeder on the momma' due. I'm terrible.

I'm not dog savvy at all which is why I love this site!

Congratulations.

We chose a girl 5 years ago, she chose her brother on January 1st (a Foster Failure am I). These two could not be any more different and I love each of them for different reasons.

You will know when you get down on the floor with all of them. Daisy was my choice before we met her, she sealed the deal when we did.

Good Luck.

Lisa I am counting down until I can get down on the floor with them! And it looks like I'll be doing it alone. My husband will be traveling. He's not happy about that.
Exciting! We just got our F1b standard Goldendoodle last week. He is now 8 weeks old. I had 2nd choice and initially thought I wanted a girl, but we ended up choosing a boy. He still has his pink blanket that we sent when we thought we were choosing a girl.

Many of the puppies in our litter had that same wavy coat. They are still either wavy or curly at 8 weeks. Even some whose coat was more straight are now wavy to curly. My puppy started out all wavy, but at about 6-7 weeks, just his muzzle turned more retriever looking. When he's wet, he's super curly. When he's dry, he's more fluffy. He is also shedding right now. I am looking forward to seeing his looks transition.

Congrats on your puppy and good luck. There is a wealth of information here and trust me, you will need it. Enjoy your rest and free time before puppy comes. :-)
Thank you. Did you already have a name picked out when you decided to pick a boy.

We're pretty set on Henly (it's my husband's middle name). I'm not sure if Henly will work for a girl. Although I had a male cat named Portia and he wasn't any worse for it...lived til 22 years!!
