Good Morning Ladies and Gents,

My name is Dolores and I am from PA, and it's nice to meet you.

I found DK while researching GD Forums and wanted to join to learn more about the breed, and to find information about breeders (I know you have to PM me - I learned this while lurking until my account was approved!!!) in the PA, NJ, DE or NY area.

I am loving all of the posts I am reading, and I'm learning a lot!  I hope to continue to learn, and hope that you don't mind questions if I ask them!

Welcome!  I have 3 doodles - 2 were adult rescues and one we purchased as a puppy.  I think you will learn a lot about doodles specifically if you go to the grooming group and about good stuff for dogs if you join the food group, the training group, PuppyMadness group.  There are some regional groups that actually have romps - I don't know about your area so you would have to look around to check that out.  Beside checking and using the What to look for in a breeder guidelines, be sure to google earth the address the breeder gives - sometimes it is non-existant, or shows a warehouse or some other buildings that might tip you off as to being a puppy mill.

Thank you everyone for all of the wonderful feedback, and sorry it took so long to respond.  Have alot going on and was literally taking my time to read up on all I could.

I think I almost gt bamboozled with a breeder from MO...thank God I never made the deposit that night. If I hadn't waited to research their "Farm" more at work the next morning, I wouldn't have known about two separate news broadcasts in their town complaining about them, negative reviews and seeing their name on the Humane Society's Puppy Mill list.

Thank God I didn't decide to go with them after all I've read, and the news broadcasts.  Sickening!!!!

I'm so glad you did your research!  It's so easy to get drawn in when you see puppy pictures and puppy mills are experts on designing sites to get you hooked!  Do your research and ask all the questions you want here!  Although we can't publicly talk about specific breeders, everyone here wants to make sure that nobody buys from a puppy mill and that you have the healthiest dog with the best temperament so that you have your forever dog and your puppy has a permanent home!  Good luck!!!!!
