Gibbs will be 5 months old on the 9th of February. We work so he spends time alone during the day in his crate. My husband comes home noonish and lets him out for a potty break and stretch of the legs. Our issues with Gibbs is that he is getting us up between midnight and 2:00 a.m. for a potty break. Gibbs goes to bed around 10:30 - 11:00 and potty's right before bedtime. Last night he went out to potty and then walks around for a while, finds a stick and lays down at 2:00 a.m. to chew a stick. Any suggestions on how to break the going to bed and getting up 2 - 3 hours later for a potty break.

Gibbs slept all night last night. We were home all day yesterday and had people over for Super Bowl, he had absolutly no good nap time at all. I think he was so glad when everyone left so that he could go curl up. He was ready for his crate and went right in and layed down and slept until the alarm went off this morning. Tired dogs are good dogs. When the weather gets warmer and more daylight he will be walking 1 - 2 miles a day.
My Yankee is almost same age and doing the same thing. I am exhausted, and just asked my husband tonight if we can try the crate in our room to see how he does. He had none of this middle of night issues until two weeks ago when he went to be neutered and was caged all day for ONE day!! I am home with him and he is rarely in cage except for night time. I am so relieved to see someone else having same issue. Tried removing his water last night early evening, didn't help. He does get a lot of exercise during the day. Let me know how your pup does, good luck.
