No more fetch with a stick!!

Charlie LOVES to play fetch more than anything in the whole wide world. She can play fetch for over and over and over for a long time until she is truly exhausted... We go to the local county park and play fetch every day.... But today, when she caught the stick, it broke in pieces. I saw Charlie cough and hacked, then she came to me distressed. I thought the piece of stick got stuck in her throat or something!!! She looked as she was ready to go home. I did the quick check on her and we got ready to go back home. At the water fountain, she did not drink the water as she normally do. I again examined he mouth and saw a little cut on her tongue, and small patch of blood in the back of her throat... :-(

After we got home, she looked like she wanted to drink her water, but she didn't. so I gave her some milk and she drunk that. When I fed Pinot, she came and ate her food... But then, she went inside of Pinot's puppy pen to rest... :-( never done this before...

If she does not acting right within a couple of hours, we are going to the emergency vet...

I should have known better than playing fetch with a stick!!

Update

We just got back from the emergency vet. Small laceration in the throat is no longer bleeding, and the fact she drunk milk and ate food is a good thing, and she kept them down is a good thing. So the doctor did not feel a need to sedate her to do the x ray or further examinations. She was scared to death at the emergency vet, tighten up so much and she was shaking like a leaf.....:-(

So, I am just going to observe her and make sure she does not cough, hack vomit or refuse eating, etc... Thank you all for the support!! I really appreciated them... It was just so scary... I just never thought something like this would happen, even though I knew it can...

Kyoko, I found amazon to be half the price and they came in 3 days.
That will give Charlie some time to heal too

Plus I am mad as hell at Pet Supply Plus. My son was sick, had some minor procedures and ER visits, (now with a surgery coming up ) and had 4 doctors notes, and they still fired him. For being sick for 5 days, not being a jerk or a bad worker. Just because he got sick. So, they will not be getting my business. I felt so bad for him. He actually loved this job and it worked great for his school schedule.

Anyone who cant be sick for 5 days and work for a company is not worthy of the money I make on my other lousy job. Nope, not giving them a penny

Sounds illegal!! I use to like Pet Supply Plus. Now, not any more! They are the one who is being a jerk... So sorry to hear about this.... It's so hard now a these days for them to go to school to make their future while making their current situation better by working... :-( School is so expensive you can only support so much, needing them to get a job and do something... I hope he feels better soon and find a better summer jobs...How much longer does he have in school..?

Only 8 credit hours!! So one semester. Sadly, I brought him home with me again today- sick again with . Looks like they will be taking these tonsils Out. Had to call the Dr. at home today Never knew just how bad this could become.
He is so sad about the job. Personally, I think it made him
Sick again just from the heartbreak/embarrrssment.

Check out this website, though. They get stipend, and educational awards toward school or past student loans. It is a national service corps. It looks good on resume, too. I think its good for students, and the networking purposes... They have some sites in Akron, too.

Poor Charlie, but I am glad it wasn't anything worse! So it did cut her throat? No wonder she has been so laid back and not much energy. I'm sure it will heal very fast and she will be her old self again. Now you can relax too!

She has this small sore / laceration in the back of her throat, that was bleeding.. I think part of the stick jabbed it...:-( She looks like she feels much better today. Thank you!!!
