Now Accepting Calendar Photo Submissions for the Doodle Kisses 2012 Calendars!!!

As of today, September 1st, Doodle Kisses will now be accepting photo submissions for our 2012 Doodle Kisses Labradoodle & Goldendoodle* Calendars. I will first link you to the photo requirements and then I will tell you how to submit and what email to send them to--ALL the info is here and in the link...please read it very carefully so you don't miss anything. It is lengthy.

We have created a list of photo requirements to help guide you in choosing an appropriate photo(s) of your doodle(s). Please be sure to read these requirements carefully so you choose high quality photos: http://www.doodlekisses.com/page/calendar-photo-requirements -- this will help you avoid wasting time sending photos that will immediately be disqualified.


Now ... on to How to Submit Photos

1) Send ONLY ONE photo PER EMAIL ONLY--I know this is tedious, but if you do it wrong I'll make you do it over :-/ It helps tremendously in sorting photos if you only send ONE photo per email. So if you have 1 photo you send one email. If you have 5 photos, you send 5 separate emails.

2) You may submit up to 5 photos PER doodle you own.

3) In your email please tell me what TYPE of doodle you have that is in the photo (labradoodle or goldendoodle or whatadoodle*) and tell me what your DK Profile name is.

4) IF ANY of your photos are professionally taken you must confirm that you have rights to use said photo(s) in a calendar that will be sold. Also if the photographer wants a copyright notice with the photo (i.e. Adina Pearson Photography (c) ) then please let me know that information.

5) Send your photos to

Deadline for Submissions: September 30, 2012---please bookmark this discussion or click "Follow" at the bottom of the thread to say up-to-date on any changes which DK Admin reserve the right to make at any time. It will be your responsibility to keep informed on this by reading through the responses to this discussion because these may contain clarification and additional tips. Selection of final calendar photos will be done by DK Admin and is subject to their best judgment

* Because Doodle Kisses is primarly a site for labradoodle and goldendoodle owners, our two main calendars will only feature labradoodles and goldendoodles (and double doodles/NAR's). However, our multi-doodle calendar will accept photos of other commonly accepted doodles such as aussiedoodles. While we love all dogs, we have to stay true to our site's focus. If you have a rescue doodle and are not sure what precise type it is...just take your best guess when listing the type of doodle your dog is.

**As always a portion of proceeds from sales of these calendars will be donated to doodle and dog rescue organizations.

My will power(s) are named "Feed-Me-Hold-Me-Feed-Me-Change-Me-Hold-Me Blake" and "Mommy-Too, Mommy-Come, Mommy-Type, Commander in Chief Natalie."  That and it seems in the past it just confuses me and I forget which photos I've seen/saved/liked/didn't like if I start peeking early.

I think the lesson learned is...do not have a baby around calendar submission time :) Just kidding and I hope you are getting some rest!!! Thank you for doing the calendar this year. It really is fun to look forward to the selections.

THanks.  Tonight it all fell apart upon arriving home from grocery shopping.  Blake slept the whole trip, Natalie is good while shopping.  But then I had to do something for 5 min without interruption and she lost it.  She was also hungry and I had nothing immediately ready for her (my fault for not having given her a snack earlier to tide her over, but we were hurried) and then Blake woke up and started crying.  Clark was gone for several hours so I couldn't call out for assistance.  It was just one after the other crying off and on for the next hour I think.  I finally got to eat dinner myself after 8pm.  And now Blake is finally happy napping on my lap and I dare NOT move him for fear of ruining the quiet.

Kids are just like puppies. There is an evening witching time when they are too hungry and tired. I remember it well. At least I could leash Luca to the doorknob or put him in his crate when he became a nipping monster. And poor Natalie has had a lot of change. I think you need an on hand , even evil, snack handy at all times for Natalie and of course you do always have one at the ready for Blake. And remember lots of housekeeping issues can wait til you get to them.

Thanks for the info Adina. I do think we have worked towards submitting more, better images. However, each photo "expert" will be most pleased if one of their own photos are chosen : )

I really think it is interesting to see what people like and don't like in the Photography group. Some of the ones I liked best, no one else did. There also seemed to me to be many different opinions each time a group of photos was submitted by the same person. I do not envy you this job.

Adina did, last year I think, give us some general pointers but that's as far as she could/would go. As I recall faces are top priority and she likes full standing doodles too. Sometimes quirky. Buried in some discussion may be a few more pointers.

I have been having internet connection problems for the last week  My ISP keeps helping but service is not reliable.  I have taken my laptop to town and have just sent my submissions in.  What an ordeal sitting in my car in a hot parking lot (sun is casting shadows where I cannot park).   Going to go home and have a cold one.
