I volunteer at an Assisted Living Retirement Facility and I do game night every Thursday night. I get so tired of word games and am constantly trying to find something new to play that gets met with some response other than, "This is so Stupid!"  Recently, I tried a new game. I asked each resident to write down four things about themselves. Three of the things must be the truth and one should be a lie. It was our job to then guess the lie. Unfortunately, I am dealing with the very elderly and was getting responses like: 1) I am a woman 2) I have gray hair 3) I am wearing a blue shirt 4) I went to the moon...so the answer was pretty obvious, but in a few rare cases we learned some interesting facts.

So, here is the challenge. Write four interesting facts about yourself. Three must be the truth and one is a lie. The rest of us will try to guess the lie! Let's see who is the best guesser on DK!  Here are mine:

1.) I love to sing Karaoke and once won a Karaoke contest singing Eye of the Tiger.

2.) In the last few years, I have seen Beyonce, Usher/Trey Songz, Michael Buble, Sugarland, and Brad Paisley in concert and my absolute favorite is Michael Buble.

3.) I do not drink any alcohol.

4.) I played competitive co-ed volleyball for years.

 

P.S. Hold off on giving any answers until people are done guessing. I will post an update and then we can all tell which is the lie. This is hard :)

 

Well, I learned some facts today. We have some inpatient people on DK..LOL. I won't mention any names.. OK, here is my lie. Go ahead and give your answer too.  If anyone wants to tally up who had the most correct answers, I will post that too. If no one volunteers, I will do it later today.

 

My lie is #1. I have a terrible singing voice and once when I was singing to the American Idol game on the Wii (I think), my SIL and DD said it sounded like an animal was dying. They made Simon seem kind.

I have been to all those concerts and did play volleyball.

My husband said the reason I don't drink is because he has to drink, in order to survive me :) No reason..not against drinking, etc. I just don't like the taste. I hate tea, coffee, most juices, and Kool Aid type drinks too. I did like that almost everyone thought I was a drunk. Please don't kick me out of Yappy Hour because my drink of choice is Root BEER.

OMG!!!   We went to STL for the weekend to see the parents and just got back an hour ago.  I could not believe I had about 600 DK emails!!  CRAZY!  I skimmed through all of the posts, so great to see the results....here are mine!

 

1.  I once ushered at a WIllie Nelson concert.  Yes I did.  He was at the Sheldon Concert Hall in STL and Arthur Andersen (where I worked) was a sponsor and a few people (randomly chosen) got to bring a guest and help usher.  My mom is a HUGE fan so I brought her and we got to meet him after the show.  She got an autograph and said he pinched her butt!  LOL!

2.  When I was in highschool I won a national art contest.  LIE.  I do love to draw and have never entered any contests.  It would have been cool though. :)

3.  I met my husband on Match.com.  Yes we did meet on Match.com and dated the entire time long-distance (STL & Chicago).  I moved up to Chicago a month after we got married.

4.  I have a collection of pressed pennies.  Yes!  It was something I started doing when my brother moved out to Phoenix and I visited him about 15 or so years ago.  Now when I see sights around the country and see a pressed penny machine I HAVE to get one!  I have 37 of them!

I had to finally stop following this post due to all the emails. Well, I guessed wrong again. I think I said #1 was the lie. When my daughter got married, I found antique pins for the bouquets, but I asked my SIL's sister what she collected and she said pressed pennies. I had never heard of that before, and I noticed you and several other DK'ers collect them. This sounds fun!
