Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi All! Quick question for everyone. My dog Jackson (Mini Golden Doodle) has one toy that he is just obsessed with. He goes everywhere with it and I swear, thinks its his baby. If he is out of the house for awhile, once he comes home and finds it, he starts to cry. Its like this little reunion he has with it. It is this little monkey toy we got for him from PetSmart. It has two squeakers in it so it used to make two different sounds but now there is only one squeak left. Sometimes we think he is communicating with us through the squeaks lol. Like he'll come up to us and start squeaking like he's trying to tell us something. Its just the cutest thing. So....my question...any other Doodles out there obsessed with just one toy? If so...what do they do with it??

Yup! Pinkie is Rua's baby. She is now 16 months old (as of yesterday) and she STILL carries Pinkie around, will cry, and try to bury Pinkie!
Here's a video...have the sound on so you can hear her cry!
That is the CUTEST video! So cute where she finally put Pinkie, OMG I need to watch that again!
Love the video Dori! Tara is THREE years now and is still obsessed about Miss Kitty. It's like they take on a life of their own and practically become family members! I think we would all miss Miss Kitty if she met with an untimely end!
YES!!!!!!! My mini Myla is OBSESSED with her little red ball that we had to take the squeaker out of because it was falling out. That is hers and if Chloe goes near it there is a war! She brings it to bed with her she will keep it by here while she chews on a bone and pick it up for a second and then go back to the bone. She will lay down for the night and tuck it under her chin and when it's time for bed she will make sure she has it-same thing when she waked up in the morning! We have a bckup because Chloe likes to eat things. We also have an outdoor one too and she LOVE's chasing it in the yard. When it's time to come in we have to make the switch from the outside to the inside one. BUT>>>she's never talked to it like yours!!! Too cute!!!
Halas doesn't have a specific toy that he does that with. But he has these Zuke's bones that he'll carry around with him looking for a place to hide them. He also whines while he's looking for the perfect spot. He'll go down to the basement with the bone, come upstairs without it, lay down for about 2 minutes, and then go back downstairs to get it, only to bring it back upstairs to look for a better hiding place.
The ice cream cone is Sophie's and the bone is Lucy's. Lucy will almost always lay her bone where ever Sophie's ice cream is laying like in the photo. They will both walk around the house whining looking for a safe place to put them. Lucy always grabs her bone and brings it whenever someone comes to the door or DH comes home from work and greets them with it. They can't have it, but they get greeted with it. Yesterday I was changing the bedding in our Master and all the things were laying on the floor in the laundry. Once everything was washed and I was emptying the dryer I found Lucy's bone in the dryer. Guess she decided it needed washed and put it in the pile. If I pick up Sophie's cone to put it in the toy box and it makes even the slightest noise she comes running and takes it from me. I guess if she wanted it in the toy box she would of put it there. These were both original toys from when they were puppies.
Since my two doodles have every dog toy ever made they really don't have a favorite. They have a huge toy box that my BF made for them, its in the shape of a dog bone :) I switch out groups of toys to keep things interesting for them, but as far as a fav. toy - they love them all :)
Yes, Trixie too is OBSESSED with 1 of her toys.
its 'Babyball' LOL.
It is a baby toy...A Stuffed ball with a bell in it. Its icky & dirty (surface washable only)
She wakes up with it...She goes to bed with it.
She plays with it all the time...She brings it everywhere with her...Except outside- shes not allowed to do that.
She will sit in the evening & hold it in her mouth for hours...Sometimes Shaking with excitement.
I think of Linus & His Blanket when I see her with her babyball
Poor Trixie! This sounds like a serious addiction! LOL
Yes!!! Tara has a stuffed cat toy that she has slept with since she first came to us at 8 weeks. She carries her around the house and cries over her. We used to keep "Miss Kitty" in Tara's crate during the day but Tara would obsess about her so much that we now just let Tara have her. Miss Kitty is now blind and has lost control of her face...very sad. Here they are in happier times:
OMD, after reading this I realize now more than ever that my two boys are as insensitive as it gets. They have not bonded with any toy. Actually they only care about a toy when the other one happens to have it. If it's not edible, they lose interest in a matter of minutes.
