Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've already decided to go with PetPlan, but I got one question though. Why the $30.00 difference in premium if I list them as Goldendoodles vs. Mixed Breed (Medium)? It's more expensive when they're identified as a Goldendoodle.

I'll be interested to see if they renew as well. You would think that if they didn't renew in cases like this they would just have a "policy benefit cap" instead of a "yearly benefit cap"! Regardless, I'm just happy to see that Rusty got the treatment that he needed and is doing well. He is a cute little guy and I'm delighted to see him swimming! Keep us posted Chuck.
I'd actually be pretty surprised if they don't renew your policy. In my PetPlan policy the non-renewal language reads that a material change in the covered pet's health does not constitute a change that would be grounds for cancellation/non-renewal. I was worried because Guinness has IBS. So far I have only submitted one claim....which they covered minus the $200 Ded. I will probably have more claims in the future with this diagnosis, so I had some concerns. I also checked the Pet Insurance websites to see if there had been any complaints about policy cancellation or non-renewal, and I didn't find any for PetPlan. Actually there were several favorable comments from insureds with serious claims, and non of them mentioned being non-renewed. The types of claims like yours and mine are expected, and what the company is in business for. I believe the ones that get questionable are when the insured may not demonstrating responsibility....e.g. dogs who have ingested objects on multiple occasions, multiple claims with injuries resulting from a pet running free, etc. When does your policy renew? Please let us know how you make out. I'm really hopeful that they will continue your coverage....I know how important that is for you.
