For the last several months I have been helping my Sister, as sort of the unofficial wedding planner, plan my Nieces wedding. The temperatures here this week have been teetering around the triple digit mark which is very unusual for this time of year. We spent Friday morning making the corsages and boutonnieres and then headed to the reception hall where we decorated and made all the centerpieces until about 5pm. Just as I was leaving there to head back to my Sisters to pick up everything that needed to go to the Church for rehearsal at 7pm a severe storm hit the area with up to 80 mile and hour winds. I got home just in time to change my clothes and head to the Church. It took three attempts to find a road that wasn't blocked by downed trees. I and several others arrived late to find no Power at the Church. Finally we finished rehearsal around 8:30 and everyone headed to the rehearsal dinner while I headed back home to do the Bridal bouquets! I finally got to bed around 1am, but sleep never came. I was just too tired and too many things were running through my head. Up early Saturday morning to load my vehicle and head back to the reception hall to finish setting things up before heading to the Church to steam dresses ... that's where it gets interesting! There was still no power at the Church! So, I made you read all this just so I could say, here is what you get when you have triple digit heat, a severe thunderstorm and a Church with no power ... A Beautiful Happy Bride!

I'm not sure what we would have done if there had not been power in the reception hall. I had power at my house and didn't realize until my folks called that there wasn't power at the Church yet that morning. When the caterer arrived she said she had been in such a panic because they had two weddings that day and she kept loosing power at her house overnight and wasn't sure what she was going to do. Anyway, it all worked out. Could have been so much worse. Glad all worked out for yours as well.
Congratulations, Christy!
Congratulations!
Clearly the bride had the right attitude and focused on what she was supposed to focus on, marrying the man she loved.
What an adorable wedding party. I love when little girls are a part of it all.
Congratulations!
