"It's not a lack of love, it's a lack of understanding."
Truer words were never spoken.
If you have dogs and young children or grandchildren, please take two and half minutes to watch this video. It might be the most important thing you watch this year.

A funny story, kind of
I've mentioned many times that before Spud, I had a giant Mastiff/Lab Mix. For a Mastiff, he only weighed 150lbs in his great days. A Large, giant, gentle man.
I thought for years, like me, he had claustrophobia. He hated hugging and so I respected his wishes especially since I suffered from this horrible syndrome myself, I understood.
I had no idea dogs hate to be hugged and find it one of the most aggressive and offensive things we could possibly do to them.
I was a newbie on DK when I read a long post, written by an expert, that went something like this:
A dog being hugged is similar to you being at the mall, meeting a stranger, and they reach out to you, where you think they are going to shake your hand. They pull you close and grab on to your boob and dont let it go!
Gasp. But hey, that is how I understand the entire issue with hugging and dogs. I'll never forget it.
It is offensive, out of bounds, and scary to them, just like that stranger guy in the mall would be to us.
Watch their ears, the eyes, the posture. That is how dogs speak. They cant slap the sh#t out of you, like you would the guy in the mall.
With so many families with young children getting new doodle puppies here recently, I though it might be a good idea to "boost" this post. Most important short video/information anyone with children and a new puppy should see, IMO.
