Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have a beautiful black and white F1B Labradoodle. She has a strange coat. The black is shorter and feels like poodle hair and the white is longer and feels like cotton candy. She is almost three so I guess this is how she will be. It makes her coal look 3d. Any others out there?

Daisy is a chocolate goldendoodle, she has a blaze on her chest that is soft, longer and white, her legs are soft and chocolate and her body is more like a poodle (but not necessarily soft, more kinky).

My white f1b has all kinds of fur/hair. Wool, fleece, straight, curly, wavey, frizzy, crazy, you name it, he has it on various parts of the body. Very difficult to manage an f1b coat- IMO. My Parti doodle (f2) did not. Her hair was perfect!
I'm sure skin pigmentation and genetics also play a role here... In this situation I believe it has more to do with your doodle being an f1b, than it does being Parti colored.

Funny I was just talking about this in another discussion.  My doodle has is a cream-apricot parti...his apricot spots are coarser and more difficult to comb through than his cream parts.  :)  He also has a blend of straight, wavy, and curly fur throughout his body.  His apricot spots tend to be curlier, his tail is straight, and then he's wavy for the most part.

Our rescue dood also has two distinct types of  coat.  His white is soft and his red is coarse. They  grow to different lengths but since we get him trimmed often, it doesn't have your 3d effect.
