pet insurance

Anyone have any good information on pet insurance. I have been doing some research, but it seems to be an endless task and now I'm more confused than ever.

I would be interested in finding out more about this also. Cost, coverage, etc. It's been several years since I've had a dog and find that the vet fees have climbed so much. Is the insurance worth it?

I have VPI, it isn't great, and is kind of expensive but so far this past six months I received more then 50% of the premium back for routine visits, shots and one ear ache. Go to VPI.com for an estimate and explanation of coverage. My Vet thinks they are the best she has seen.

In one of these discussions (or maybe on another site?) someone quoted a consumer reports article to say that it's often NOT that useful...but there have been some who have gotten good out of it.
