I agree, F. A lot of us really worry about other people's dogs' health issues, and often spend time looking for information when a question is asked about some illness or problem. We do this out of concern and a desire to be helpful. To never get an update on what happened is worrisome and frustrating.
Agreed!
For example
My dog is vomiting and has violent diarrhea.
Then, we never hear from them again until the next issue.
WTD?
Yep, we worry.
And, we also could benefit from learning from your experience too.
I agree too. I really worry every single time someone posts that their dogs are ill and then I keep checking back to look for an update. Sometimes there is one and it is embedded in the comments so I trawl through all the comments and sometimes it is added as an update to the original post which is much better. And then there are those who never update at all and I end up thinking maybe the dog died and they are too heartbroken to post (I am a bit of pessimist LOL)
I totally agree F. Not following up is my pet peeve in general (in all parts of my life incidentally). But, specifically to this site it really bothers me with regard to training questions. I tend to put a great deal of time and effort into giving training suggestions for a certain problem or outlining a specific program to be followed and I always say...please let us know how you made out/if the suggestions worked. Sadly there is rarely any follow up. This is frustrating because I would really like to know if my or anyone else's ideas worked or not (will know whether or not it is a good suggestion for the future). I can even accept that life happened and I got lazy and did not do anything that was suggested, but please, just follow up with something!
OMD YES!
Okay, pet peeve number two. (And then I promise to go back to being positive). People who come on when they are either in crisis or to blog and then never, ever contribute to anyone else's posts or blogs. So to summarize, my two pet peeves are non-follow-uppers and takers.
Amen, sister!! My pet peeve is people who have 4 or 5 blogs running on the front page at once, yet NEVER respond to anything anyone else discusses or blogs. I don't even click on those blogs. Oh, and another thing, some of those blogs are advertisements, etc. wanting us to click on something that somehow benefits them.
One of my biggest peeves, too.
