Today Frannie & Callie (along with several of Frannie's friends) and Harlow & I participated in the Petco Foundation 5K9 Walk Run event. It was a rainy Sunday morning in Atlanta but that didn't prevent approximately 500 runners & walkers coming out to enjoy a 5K (3.1 miles) with their dogs.
Frannie & I had an extra reason for participating this year as the funds raised are going to a local dog rescue, Forgotten Paws. Many of you know the story of my Lacey (then Lucy) escaping and being caught 2 weeks later. Well it was Forgotten Paws that loaned DRC/Frannie the live trap. Today I was able to personally thank Morgan from Forgotten Paws for the loan of the trap.
Below is an after run photo and we are all looking rather soggy thanks to the rain, but we had a blast and supported a great local rescue the same time.

Wow, is that Frannie, front and center? Haven't seen her in so long. She looks great. It must be your good influence, Nina. You Southern Bells are really keeping in shape and now for a good cause too!
Very nice
Tell her we miss her.
Nina, is that you front>right?
Beautiful!
Yup.
Thanks for participating.
You are much more ambitious than me : ). Today the doodles and I went to a small bistro that was sponsoring a Paws for Peace event. My lawnmower service lady was playing the piano at the event and invited us. They had a buffet brunch, not really much, for a donation. People organizing the event were great. They got us a spot outdoors, held the dogs for me while I got foodinside and gave the dogs treats. Given another gorgeous NJ spring day we had fun.
Wow, a lawn mower service lady who plays the piano! Sounds a like a character from an Anne Tyler novel, lol! Also sounds like a really nice event!
