With all the rain the lawn is overdue to be mowed.  I have been trying to get some pictures of the hummingbirds and decided to carry the camera.  I was getting ready and noticed my two kids were hunting in the grass.  Which around here only means one thing, they're going on a SNAKE HUNT.  Even though I have tried to discourage this, it's been passed down and dogs will be dogs.  If I was not the person experiencing this, I probably would have a hard time believing it.  So today I put on my brave face since they were in the fenced yard and got the camera out.

Allyson this is for you, just kidding!

Apollo on point.

Clovers second hunting lesson (that I'm aware of).

Apollo catches it.

And the playing begins.

Clover joins back in.They notice me.

Now they start heading my way and drops it.

Here's the first toss headed my way.

I can't take it anymore and walk really fast around the side of the house.  Now I have a dead snake in the yard that needs mowed and can't seem to bring myself to do it.

OMG!  I believe you posted something before that they did this.  Well pictures speak a thousand words!!  What goofy dogs.
Wow, you did good taking pictures while avoiding the snake toss.
Very impressive. Even pictures.
Eewww!
Tina, you really are my hero!  There is no way EVER that I would have been close enough to take these pictures...especially knowing the "snake toss" could come at any moment.  Maybe you need to wait until Lexi tells you she has nothing to do, and then send her out to bury the dead snake.
Oh Jane, thank you so much for saying this about Lexi I no longer have to feel bad.  There was no way I could go in the backyard to mow and I'm using a riding mower.  I actually asked Lexi to take Apollo, have him get the snake and take it out of the yard.  And by the way, I told Lexi she can YELL MOM all day long for 1 week.  She did a little dance singing OH YA, OH YA...., then said "Come on Apollo & Clover lets go get another snake".  She went out the door, shut it, turned around opened the door and YELLED "MOM I LOVE YOU!"
hysterical!

hahahahaha...

Great pictures.  Wacky dogs.  They must be so proud of themselves every time they kill Mommy's mortal enemies.

You are right, there is no way I could have pictured how disgusting this is without your pics. YUCK! I'm not sure I would ever leave the house again.
I leave the dead snakes in my yard after killing them...it's kind of my way of sending a message to all their little snakey friends and family that this is what happens when you come in my yard
great play-by-play!!!!! Lola has no interest in this. In fact, she walked right over a garter snake the other day and didn't even notice!!!
I was afraid to even look at the photos, and I'm very relieved they aren't close-ups. I think when I come to visit you, it will be in the dead of winter.
