Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I will need to have spinal surgery in the next three weeks for lumbar discogenic disease. I live alone and as I recover from surgery will be bed ridden for a 60 day period. I will not be able to walk at all or care for my beloved baby boy Luigi. Luigi is a beautiful eleven month old labradoodle, completely housebroken obviously. I am desperate. As all of us are on here my doodle is the love of my life. I live in the Philadelphia suburbs area and need to know if anybody would be able to foster Luigi for a 2 month period. Any and all expenses would be covered of course. I am in tears as I type this because I have never spent even a day away from him but I need to think of his welfare and care above all else. I am praying that somebody who is in the club or who knows somebody that shares a love of doodles like me can care for him. Please respond. Thank you so much. I have many pictures of him posted in my profile.

So sorry to hear this. I hope your surgery goes well.

You couldn't have come to a better place for help. I do hope your surgery goes well.
I hope the surgery goes smoothly and you are well soon.

Laura - I live in Mt. Laurel just outside of Philly.  I would be happy to help.  I will send you a friend request - not sure if I could do the entire 2 months as I have some travel plans, will definitely help to the extent possible.  I can only imagine how upset you are but I am willing to bet it will all work out!

OK, great!

I knew this group would help. I am always so proud to be a member of DK.

Good luck with surgery Laura, and to a quick recovery.

I'm so impressed with those stepping up to help, amazing!

Wish I was closer to at least help out some, but it sounds like things will be alright
for the two of you. Take care of yourself.

I'm about seven hours away. If you can not find someone near you, he can come stay with us.  If you can get him to me there is no problem with having a guest.  We have done this before  :)

I'm sorry you are ill and I wish you a quick and fast recovery.

Joanne, If you would foster him, I will go get him from Philly, if you can meet me in Pittsburgh.

I would foster but I am worried that CHarlie is still working on her reactiveness.

Kyoko, that is really doable!

I agree, Charlie needs her own time. Her own security, so no, please dont stress our pretty girl :)

My hopes are that someone near takes him and lets him visit his mom. Animals have such a way of helping heal those who are ill.  Laura needs it all right now to help her get better.

But, I'm here and he would be safe with us.

Wishing you a quick and speedy recovery from our surgery, Laura.  I am glad that you were able to find a Doodle friend near you to help you out with Luigi.  He is adorable!  Yes, he is going to miss his Mom, but it sounds like he will be in the loving hands of another doodle owner.  Luigi will be so happy to see you when you are feeling better.  Take care :-)

Laura, so sorry to read about your surgery and sending prayers for full and healthy recovery!  Isn't this site amazing with stepping up to help and making sure all bases are covered!  Doodle Kisses is the BEST!  I'm sure Luigi will be well taken care of with lots of love!
