Jack just fell off my bed, remember he is only 12 pounds, He was trying to get a toy up on the bed like he always does, he fell and hit his leg on my oxygen  tank or his hip, He scream yelped and then cried for a few minutes. Now he won't walk on it. This is the same leg he got attacked on and it was pulled out of socket. He stopped crying, but now he won't walk on it.

Do I take him to the ER Vet, you know I am so fast to do that. I have to go to a very important doctors appointment tomorrow 2 and half hours away. So if he needs to go, I want to go now, plus if he is in pain I want them to fix him.

What do I do? How do I know

Poor Jack, we hope he's feeling better soon and heals quickly! Don't beat yourself up, accidents happen to all of us. Hugs to you both!
Sounds like you need to call the ER vet and get a Rx called in for an Anti-Emetic. Use a playpen. But if it were me, I would use a crate.

I am going to take him to his vets office down the road in about two hours when they open, they will give him a shot of something to stop the nauseousness. I also want him looked at again, he just isn't acting right, he has had both these meds before when he was attacked,. I want to see what they say if my regular vet is in, if not I will just have them give me some pills for him to stop throwing up.

.

I'm just catching up with all this now and am so sorry Jack and you are going through all this.  I hope he has stopped throwing up, I'm sure it was the pain meds they gave him.  Poor little chap.  I would bring him with you with someone else if you can get someone to come with you.  It's very important you put your own health first.  The bigger wire crates could be good if you pad the sides and make it into a space that he's comfy in but can't move around a lot.  Fo a vet to say keep him off his feet and offer no reasonable solution seems crazy.  What about a dog buggy/stroller.  I had one and they would be fine for wheeling him around in and they fold for the car like a baby buggy but they have a proper zip closing on the top.  I do hope it all settles down and that both of you are well soon.

Ps

It's 4:50 a.m...and I'm just checking in again on you and Jack...

I'm so glad that you called me last night...and that  I was able to be a help and encouragement  to you!

I wish that I didn't have appointments scheduled today...or I would go with you to the hospital...

I can stop in and check on Jack later in the afternoon...and stay with him between my appointments if that would be helpful?

I can also come over tonight and help you out...since you will be tired after a long day of doctors appointments yourself.

Call me in the morning...as we can talk about plans...

I'm praying for little Jack...and for you...

Lots of Hugs...Love and Prayers Coming Your Way...

Auntie Susan, Jack says you need your rest!!!!

We are up, Jack slept for about an hour peacefully, then he woke up and now he is whining.. He threw up two more times, but all his meds that he was given were given IV so I don't know what he is throwing up, He is not a puker in general. I think it is still the meds, just making him nauseous. I can give him more narcotics now, enough time has gone by but I am pretty certain he won't hold it down. He is acting worse now then he did when he was attacked by the dog. He is acting scared, crying, etc. I tried to take him potty, he did put his leg down to the ground.

He is acting like he does when he really doesn't want to do something, he is hiding his head under my arm. Drooling all over me which he never does and hearing him whimper in pain, makes me sick to my stomach literally,

Honestly, I just have to keep it in perspective, I am blessed enough that he will get better from this, it will be rough for a bit but not compared to what people go through. Some people right now are holding their two year old children that are dying of some horrible disease, I am home in bed holding my spoiled dood, who took a spill and and got hurt with an injury that will get better. I am so tired but can't sleep.

I think even if I get someone to watch Jack today, I am not going to be up for the drive to my doctors, but we will see if I can get some more sleep.

I can't thank you all enough, and Susan thanks for talking to me. I will call you later, that would be helpful if Kara can't watch Jack, for you to come check on him if I do go to the doctor, I am praying I can get a really close rescheduled appointment,

Thanks again to everyone, I do have a dog stroller for Jack but I think if we need to go some where, he will ride on the scooter with me, who knows I  may let him drive, he can't be worse then me on that thing...

Up still awake...and on DK!!

So...What Else Is New!!  Lol...

If you want to chat...call me!!

If you need to rest...rest well!

Sweet Dreams My Friend...

Oh...

Yummm...

I know that you're watching what you eat...but...if you want some...let me know!

Chocolate Therapy Just Might Help!!  Lol...

Just read this post. Sorry you and Jack are so distraught. I hope you both feel better after going to your regular vet. I will be thinking and watching the thread to see how things are going.

Good Luck

:-(

I am so sorry to hear about Jack. I know it is horrible not knowing, and you are doing the absolute best possible for him. I hope your vet is in this morning.

Sending positive fuzzy thoughts your way.

Jennifer, I hope by now (I just read your post) that all is o.k.  Jack has lots of friends  wishing for him to have a

speedy recovery  from his fall.  Maybe it is just another dislocated socket, they are very painful.  And, I hope you get to your doctors and are o.k., too.

I'm so sorry this happened, but at least you know what his injury is now.  Like you said, he will recover, even though he'll be pretty sore for awhile.  Hang in there!
