Has anyone's doodle ever had pneumonia?  My Sasha is 8 month old was very lethargic, vomiting, not eating for 1.5 days.... took her to the vet, temp. was 104.  Vet immediately put her on IV and ran a battery of tests.  Upon x-ray she had a aspirated lung (probably from vomiting), had a trachia wash/biopsy and was in the hospital for 5 days.  Diagnosis was pneumonia, she was a VERY sick little girl.  She was on 7 day bed rest, antibiotics and has recovered completely.  I am racking my brain trying to figure out how the heck she got this???  any ideas, suggestions???  I never want to go thru this again.

I have no idea but I thrilled to hear she is feeling better!
Sounds like the vomiting was the 1st problem ( maybe eating something she shouldn't have or had a stomach virus)) and aspirated when vomiting. That means basically "it went down the wrong pipe" and got into her lungs and caused a pneumonitis or pneumonia- called aspiration pneumonia, Glad to hear Sasha all is better, poor girl.
Yes, this no doubt is what happened.
I agree with Pat, aspirating during vomiting is pretty common in humans, especially in the elderly. I've never heard of it in dogs but I don't see why it couldn't happen. Hope Sasha is feeling better!
I'm glad she's feeling better. That sounds like quite an ordeal she and you had to go through.
