Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I've been watching some of the US election coverage and I have to say it is making my head spin. As my mind wandered, which it is apt to do at times, I came to a startling revelation. I have to say a big thank you to Barack Obama, not because of anything he has done politically but because of his choice of a dog.
About the time Obama became president I was in the throes of my search for a dog and had pretty much settled on a Portugese Water Dog. The suggested dog for the Obamas was a Doodle but they didn't go that way, they picked a PWD instead. Up to that point I had a picture of a PWD as my laptop background and was working on DH to cave in and say yes we could have a dog. Well as soon as the Obamas picked the PWD, I crossed it off my list thinking that everyone would be wanting one and I wouldn't be able to afford one.
So to make a long story short I did some research and settled on a Goldendoodle although it still took some time to convince DH who didn't really want a dog let alone something called a doodle.
So I have to say a great big thank you to President Obama because of him I have my heart dog, one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I think that DH may just be a little smitten too.
Just as an after thought, if Barack Obama named his dog BO after himself and I had followed suit, my dog's name would be DK- Decay, not the best name for a dog.

I was wondering where this might lead when I read the title! Love this story and love Quincy! It's funny where the path leads you until you find your way. You hit the jackpot!
It's funny because when I first joined DK and was talking to my DH about it he thought I was saying decay. Now what kind of web site would be called decay??? I don't even want to think about it! LOL! Tara would have been RR. I would have sounded like a barking dog when I called her!!!
Donna, I love this story and the photos! You and Quincy are adorable.
Speaking of PWDs, Bo seems well behaved now but I remember reading he was quite a spunky pup with a mind of his own -- puppy madness. I remember an interview Michele gave when Bo was about 6 months old and I think the idea was for him to sit or lie quietly next to her. Ha! He started to paw around for attention and ended up playing tug of war with her sleeve and she had to interrupt the interview to get someone to "disengage" BO from her arm and take him off camera LOL I can relate!!
Great picture Jen! Looks like a puppy pile to me :)
Such a fun photo! Lots of love there.
